Pretty ...... and mostly bummed

so in November last year I purchased a nice hazard orange RoughStack V2...finally got it and it was pretty alright for a 3.7 machine but I require a little more punch so i contemplation getting the maxi so i could hit at 5+ but a friend offered me his brand new one because he doesnt like the cheap button..... well it was again an OK vaping experience unil late december when it all started coming apart....first my V2 started getting testy with my cartos and not firing and i would have to play with the threading and it was a headache....so another friend had a replacement board on hand and we changed it out and it was all well and good....for 2 days and then it took a final crap, which brings us to today.....the death of the MAXI she did the same thing today.....pretty bummed out that both mods went down in less than 4 months...really??? hopefully something good will come of this and maybe the quality of their products are already getting better..i saw the bolt or volt whatever it is and it looks more promising with the GLV style buon but who knows. anyone else have a similar problem?

You are going about solving your problem the wrong way. Opening a ticket and having madvapes do repairs would be eaiser - would get it done right - and would require minimal effort on your part.

Rough Stacks are only guaranteed for 3 months, I believe that to be b/c of the switch, which is replaceable. Don't know about your threading, but you could ask at MV if that would effect performance. I have had one for nearly 2 years and only gone through a lot of switches. They just burn out, the first one was user error as I overdripped and overfilled a lot.

There are a couple of reviews on the Bolt around here already. Might try a word search, I know one review is here in the MV subsection, but I believe there may be a couple of others. Worth a read, makes me think quality is no better than a RS though. So I don't expect a Bolt to last a lifetime.

We have had our maxi roughstacks for one year. We are 6v vapors. In that year I have had to replace the springs with wire, as those springs tend to become a heating coil themselves. Then both started shorting out to the point that the batteries would start cooking. What I found out was that the little o ring in the 510 connector was shot. To fix it, I made a new one our of teflon tape and added a 510 extender.

Sorry. Typing on my phone. With the 510little extender in place it keeps that teflon o ring in place and I have no worry of it shorting out. Have done this with both maxi roughstacks and they don't miss a beat now. Hope this helps someone

Good to know about the connector issue. I have two hard wired RS's and other than having to clean a switch they've been fine. I'm pretty hard on 'em so either I'm lucky or the OP hit a bad batch. MV should repair them inexpensively, better than the trash.

BTW...the switches used in the RS's are actually high quality. They may not be military grade like the one's used in the GLV but I can guarantee that the switches used on the Bolt are nothing special. They're probably similar to the one's that MV uses on their box and acrylic tube mods.

I have an open ticket, just waiting now....I dunno...I know that its a good PV because when it worked it worked well. I don't intend on trashing them or even getting rid of them hopefully i just rolled through a jacked up batch of boards...and as far as the button...honestly its not my favorite...its not a ....ty button, IMHO though I feel like it could be a little less wobbly and flimsy.

It's a C&K 8500 and I agree; that's an excellent quality switch. Funny you mention GLV; I had to replace the switch on my mini myself because I could NOT get support to even respond.

Look this thread isn't here to deface the name of Mad Vapes, if thats how its perceived then I am very sorry... as far as my thoughts on the switch, they remain the same despite the professional annotations it may be a very nice switch... i have big hands and work in a rough environment where durability is king... the stacks dont meet those standards... i still love it as an at home PV or a desk pv, that's all I am saying. this was posted simply to see if this was a familiar problem and if so what would be the best remedy for preventing this after its fixed.
