I am trying to understand the relationship between VG and flavorings. If most flavorings use PG as a base because the flavor mixes with it better. When you mix flavors with VG is there a special steeping process? Does it take longer for it to mesh together? I have purchased the infamous Bobas Bounty which is suppose to be all VG and he flavors have no problem being mixed and intense. What part am I missing. I am going to start DIY and would love to use a higher % of VG because I feel the PG dries me out a bit more. Tell me what I am missing here. Thanks.

If your using a PG flavor the mix will never be 100% VG if you add 10% PG flavor the mix will be 90VG/10PG.

The thickness of the VG is what makes flavoring take longer to mix. You can help that along by slightly warming the mix and then shaking it. In my own opinion no more flavor is really required over PG mixes it just takes a bit more mixing and steeping time but as I said heating the mix to no more then 120F will help the mixing process..

Thanks Danny I am aware of the percentages. So from what you are saying is that the flavors will mix it just takes longer and may need to be heated up a bit to mesh the flavor with the VG.

It seems to me that is exactly what he is saying...I use 100%vg exclusively and all that it ever needs is heat, time and shaking...not even that much heat...

Both of you are correct. A little heat and shaking will speed things up. A little water in a covered thrumal cup helps. Fill with hot tap water drop the bottle in let it sit a few minutes then remove and shake return it to the warm water let it sit until it cools to luke warm then remove and shake. FIll again with hot tap water and repeat 2 more times.

An ultrasonic cleaner works wonders for steeping. Just drop the bottle in and the ultrasonic waves shake the mix and warm the water. 1 hour of UC steeping equals 1 week of natural steeping.

Yep but depends on how much your cutting the PG. I find up to 50/50 shakes pretty well on it's own without any heating help. What we are talking about here is high VG concentrations of 80 or more.

The ones I'd be cutting are 70/30. I ordered some VG and VG/DW from Mt Baker. Would that reduce the nicotine level too? They're at 24, and I don't want to destroy them. I'm good with going to 18 I think.
