Hi everyone,
Read about ecigs elsewhere and started looking around the internet for info on it, then found this site and been reading for awhile to learn what it's about.

I have a question about the primer. I've seen some posts that talk about vaping off the primer in a new ecig. Is it a peculiar taste or something from the factory? Is it to do with the atomizer itself or just breaking in a new cartridge? How long does it typically last?

Thanks for your help. Looking forward to trying these.

The primer liquid is indeed the stuff they put in it at the factory, it is there to protect it should an inexperienced vaper vape without a cartridge to prevent burning it out. its taste is not too unpleasant just very plain so vape normally untill the taste/throat hit of your cartridge comes through. Usually for me it takes from 15 minutes to an hour of vaping for the flavour of the cartridge to come through. Good luck!!

So, the flavor from the 1st cart won't kick in for 15 minutes to an hour. Good to know.
I haven't yet got an ecig. I'm the type to read a lot before making my decision. This board has been very helpful for that.

Depends on the flavor... I just tried some "french pipe" last night and still can't get rid of it. New cart and atm rinse barely had any effect.
God... who are you people that love this stuff? Tastes like burnt upholstery.

Ugh. It is very effective as an appetite suppressant though, I'll give it that. :thumb:

After reading about the primer, I wanted to be prepared in case the first puffs were very different or nasty tasting.
Sounds like that won't be bad at all.
You'll love it! I never even noticed the primer when I started, I was too busy learning how to vape and enjoying it :p I am sure you will too :)

Another question.
From what I read, I think I'd prefer using a cart, then topping it off instead of dripping.
Since RY4 or Riskee are described by many as similar to caramel, I was thinking topping with vanilla might be complementary and tasty.
Any preferences or flavors I should watch out for in combining this way?

The first flavor I topped with was vanilla - soft and not too sweet..a nice introduction into the sweeter flavors.

That sounds great. I'd rather have something not too sweet.

Didn't realize someone else was already here with such a similar name.

Let me know if you think that could be confusing. I'd be glad to alter mine (or re-register) to seamist or something if so.

Some folks love the Riskee, I don't. I really had high hopes for it, but I just don't think I like the sweet side of the liquids. I bought a sample pack from puresmoker and every now and then I'll try a different one.

Some flavors are fun... coconut, pina colada, coka cola, etc. but to sit and enjoy it, I've got to have a fresh cart and 555. That's just me though. You may like everything except 555. Just remember not to base your judgement on anything if you vape the french pipe first in the same device. It just won't go away.

Sorry, when I said cart I meant to say atomizer.

I've got 4 atomizers, 2 each from different companies.

My puresmoker atomizers had no taste at all. The intellicig ones tasted like cherry.

Fascinating that the intellicig atomizer would have a cherry flavor.
I think the term "primer" made me think of something more chemical or metallic.
No taste or cherry sound fine.

At the same time, I do like a bit of a kick.
I mostly smoke menthol, though sometimes I'll vary with vanilla, perique or gauloises. Not too often for the latter two, since the smell is so strong and clings so long. oh, and I loved some anise cigs I tried on a trip to France years ago - Royal I think they were.
I think flavors like cola, banana and coconut might be a bit much for me. I love banana bread the 1st day, but tire of it quickly.
I'll definitely try other flavors before the french pipe - thanks for that caution.
What is 555 like?

I'll go look around and see how I can change or if I need to re-register.

If anyone knows the best way to do this, please post it.
