Nah, I spent the day at the range with my daughter. I have no real angst about the juice delivery system. A drilled 6-32 SS screw makes the juice delivery system work just fine. I know this 'cause I've been vaping one like that for more than a month. A drilled M3 screw would work too. ;)

I agree with you but a delivery system where you don't have to drill a hole thru a screw is nice. [emoji12]

I understand -- I don't have a drill press (or lathe) either.

But you can buy pre-drilled "vented" screws from a number of places including McMaster and Amazon; they cost $2-3 each, no biggie in the grand scheme of things. The only issue is that the holes through 'em are a bit smaller than optimal and the hole size gets smaller with a smaller screw -- the holes are spec'd around or under 1mm, when what we'd really like to have is 1/16" (about 1.6mm). It looks like one could use certain M3 screws without having to modify their heads, but they have the smallest holes. 6-32 screws (being about 3.5mm) have slightly bigger holes, but all the 6-32s I've gotten so far require some modification of the heads to provide adequate clearance in the 510. M4 screws would require even more modification, hence I think 6-32 might be the sweet spot. Modifying the heads is a bit tedious if you using nothing but a drill and sandpaper, but its not difficult and doesn't require any skill. I also have some more vented 6-32s that might not need any modification (or at least would be less tedious) on the way.

There's also someone looking at drilling out some M3 screws for us with a 1/16" bit. These wouldn't require any modification to the heads, and if this pans out, they should be available in sufficient quantities for individuals wanting to build these mods.

Anyway, no angst. :)

Quick dry fit - the metal is polished bronze.
Next order coming in has raw brass.

I wonder if shapeways would have an issue making the internal assembly in an alloy....?

gdeal didn't open it up for metals for a reason.
I suspect that it would be extremely difficult to get a 3D printed lost wax internal that complex.

Not sure I'd want the added weight or possibility of shorting the DNA with a metal internal either.

I get that.... At least he made the internals in my requested Metallic Plastic color. ;-)

I'm just so excited to get one going. Hopefully the group buy for the internal parts will not take long as requested a set so I don't have to pay $5-10 for shipping on $1 parts.

I also just bought a NoName NoTank in green to match the green body.

I'd say shorting is more than just a possibility; I'd call it a near certainty:
In addition, the internals also need to be a bit flexible for the connectors and magnets to have a decent press-fit. The tolerances on their metal parts aren't good enough for that.

Thanks Uwe, went nuts when I read that
