well that's going to hold me up and possibly write off this project for me - I've looked everywhere and aside from mouser can't find these fuses anywhere but there - and they are not expecting them in until the end of October..

Plus with their set rate of £12.000 GBP for shipping - just two of these fuses will cost me $27 dollars -- it just might be the straw that brakes this projects back for me unless I can find an available alternative to go there instead.. and personally for me I never go above 12 W in any of my mods... the only other poly fuses i can find are 6a hold with a 12a trip with a max V rating of 30V but I've no idea if they would fit in the available space of the mod case or not..

alternatives for the fuse would be appreciated if you can suggest - otherwise - it will be a non-starter for me as that is one of 2 parts that will hold me up - the other is ironically the small SS nut needed for the fat daddy 510 mod - not available in the UK - and have to buy in packs of 100 from the US again at SILLY prices :(

Fuses in stock here: 2920L700SLPR

You dont need to use a fuse, lots of devices both regulated and mechanical dont have them.

The 510 Bottom feed set up and parts I posted is just one way of doing it. It really doesnt matter what type of SS screw you use, so long as it can be adequately insulated. The Fat daddy 510 has a 7 mm ID. So use what you got and size appropriately.

Here's the uk link.... http://www.digikey.co.uk/product-detail/en/2920L700SLPR/F6137TR-ND/3777493

cheers for finding that fuse in stock - I will have to think long and hard on whether I will get them though as Digikey also have a flat rate of shipping policy of £12 GBP which means two fuses will set me back £16 / $28 dollars roughly -

factored into the total cost - it's not an insignificant amount and my principles really prevent me from paying 12 postage on a product that weighs less than 2 grams...:(

I think I'll probably add a search to ebay and get them if they ever turn up on there with reasonable shipping costs..

I hope it works out because I don't have a dremel even to attempt such an operation. I prefer to have only soldering to make. Thanks.

I have a dremel with a large array of bits, as well as a power drill. This specific task needs a drill press, and even then it is a pain, as per gdeal.

I think that's why they are trying to get the 1/16” pre drilled screws.

Yup, I was just mentioning that doing it with tools that are usually available isn't really an option. Even with a drill press, it's a pain. We've spent a lot of man hours looking for a vented screw that could be used, but none fit the bill, so the only way to get the right specs for a perfect BF 510 is to have the perfect screw custom drilled. On another note, I know more than I care to know about vacuum vented screws.

If you had to drill out the 510 insert screw for bottom feed

Amen, I have also spent a considerable amount of Googlefu looking for something to fit the bill for everyone else, even though I used Reo pins.

gdeal has found someone willing to take on the task of drilling out all the screws as there isn't an easy, off the shelf item to accomplish what we are looking for. That is figured into the kit price.

Having done that myself, I can tell you it isn't an easy task. It's not hard to do, just hard to do well and its time consuming. I broke off a bit in an Odin pin last week at a point where it is screwed now.
