I only apply CA to the bottom bit of the connectors (where the lip is) in the main internal assembly and sparingly on the lowest portion of the magnet in the main internal assembly, so it can still be taken apart if necessary with a minimal effort.

+1 to the this ^

I also started using a thicker version of CA. It prevents runaway absorption by the porous nylon. I lay down a thin bead and then use a paper clip to guide it along those edges. Takes a little long to dry but you get good control. I do this for the wattage buttons and for the two legs on the juice bottle side wall as well

it is hard to keep up and look for all these tips when the time comes gdeal  Anyway I have my pieces from shapeways sitting for a while now, I haven't done any dry fit even because i was afraid to dirty them. When you say dry fit, do i just put the plastics in and see if i have any problems with the tolerances?

don't be afraid to get it dirty! Who cares? It sits inside anyway, right? Dry fitting is assembling all the plastics so you can see where adjustments need to be made. There have been a few instances wherein I have to shave off some material from the base internal assembly just so it go in smoothly and flush to the bottom of the body. A very common problem for me is the screen holder tolerance is too tight. This is easily solved by scraping the tracks with a blade or sharp knife.

You may also have to widen the 510 hole on the top cap. Screw your atty on the 510 and insert the assembly on the top cap, top internal, and secure it with the 510 ring . This will show you if any filing is required to have it sitting flush and evenly.

Be patient and take your time. I was too excited to hurry up and finish one on my first build and it just turned out crappy. The worse part was I didn't think of disassembling the internals so I applied super glue all over the top mating parts. Refer to the gluing tips above. Use toothpick or paper clip to apply a tiny bit of superglue on the base to the mini connectors. Plan your gluing to allow for disassembly - specially if you're planning on the reverse battery placement. I've bricked a couple of boards already just from absent mindedly inserting the batts and both times I didn't plan for disassembly so I just destroyed the internals.

Everyone is here to help so just ask whenever you get stumped. I myself am still learning

Yep, exactly like that, with one exception: You have the polarity reversed on the Up connections (see page 8 of the data sheet). This doesn't really matter as long as you're using individual wires to the switches as shown, it's just that your wire colors will be inconsistent. Also, a meter indicates that we could common the '-' side of the Up and Down buttons, and it would be very important to note the polarity of the connections if one did that.

Here is what happens when you order the Alumide Internals:
Thank you for your order at Sculpteo.
It has come to our attention that the following item 'DNA V3.1 Frame Assembly For Alumide (Alumide)' can not be printed due to a issue with your 3D file.
Reason: bad modelisation
Description: There are 10 critical points on your object that will not allow the object to be printed. You need to check the object in the "review" option on our website to see the 10 points
Had to reorder in polished white. Pay an additional $6.39 in shipping. And wait 4 more days.

I received a refund feom sculpteo on the second shipping of the separate parts for the Peko. To recap I place an order for dna mod and a peko. The Peko was the one piece. So they emailed me that I cannot print it in Alumide and refunded me the price. They continued working on the other mod. I emailed them and explained that I want to replace the alumide Peko with separate parts, so they replied indicating to place another order. This other order had shipping as well but they refunded it. The funny thing is that when I placed the order for the Peko in parts, the dna mod was already printed and noted as shipped. Not sure if I will receive 2 packages without actually paying for shipping the second package. Either way it's good CS I think although a bit on the late side (few days, not weeks)

I just received an email from Sculpteo. They are moving to a new system for how they price printing of their models. They mention this in the blog on their site today. Basically, they have moved pricing from a per model basis to a per part basis. This is not a good thing for this printed mod. I re-uploaded the same model for the "DNA v3.1 all parts with Alps low" under a new name. The pricing on the model skyrocketed. Since there are 10 parts in the model and they now charge a $6 fee for each part. You can do the math. This is similar to what shapesways just did on their site. Bad news going forward......

However, good news for now, I have all my models uploaded at Sculpteo and it appears that they have not updated the prices for those models. :) I have no idea if they are grandfathering in all models prior to this change, or they just havent caught up to us yet.

So. If anyone was contemplating ordering either the v3.1 or the mechanical, they may want to take this into consideration. That and we still get 10% off with coupon "GDeal" for now.

I think it is logical that many parts in 1 model is just cheating the system. Don't you think so? Unless there is something else I'm not getting.

Hopefully we keep old prices. I still have plenty to order

Its not "cheating" if they allow it. Its their pricing system. I really hope they let us keep the old prices. The model that had all the buttons in it went to over $200 for color and polished. This would make Shapeway and imaterialize much more attractive from a price perspective. And basically effectively force close my models on their site.
