Hey guy's, I have read thru 15 pages or so and I see that you'all have been going back and forth from a couple different places to have parts made. Which company do you recomend today, and do they print all the parts from one order or do you have to piece it together. Im sure this is a question asked over and over. I may be a little slow in head today I got a little confused here. I do think this is a nice way to go, really small, and looks pocket friendly.
Thanks

Right now Sculteo seems to be providing slightly better prints than Shapeways. Sculteo has "all in one models" which is nice if you are ok with the parts to be the same color. Grouping the parts at Sculpteo also reduces the overall cost compared to individual parts. In any case, I would get the parts in a polished finish. They come cleaner and the interfaces are smoother. If you werent in Tibs's co-op, just be aware that there are a lot of vendors for parts and some have a MOQ well beyond what you need. (and individual shipping cost can add up too). In the build doc, there are links that have all the vendor information, video etc.

OTG - the only thing you need at FD is the classic 510.

gdeal, Unfortunately I didn't have a whole lot of time this weekend (concert in the city, baseball, football, nascar race, ribs, sleep, yada, yada, yada), but I was finally able to dry-fit the 2 sets from sculpteo.com. Everything looks spot-on! Hopefully I'll have some time towards the latter part of this week to get everything prepped for the final build. I'm still debating on how I'm going to finish these. I would really like to try my creative hand at what ValHeli has been able to master :)

Here's the equipment checklist if you wanna try it

1. Magic marble paints
2. container deep enough to fully immerse the shell.
3. Plastic liners to make clean up easy
4. Tap water bet 70F - 80F
5. swirl stick - could be anything like a popsicle stick, skewer, ... a pencil
6. Latex gloves - the paint just loves to stick everywhere you don't want it to
7 Big bottle of acetone and some cotton pads handy - for paint clean up or if you're not happy with the results
8. Bunch o newspapers

:D Just pm me if you have any questions:D.

ValHeli, Thank you for the quick-start info. I just placed my order at peachtreeglobal.com :)

Like it needs to be said… I'm so looking forward to giving this a whirl :p

Ok, I'm inspired. Placing my order also. I usually use the minimalist approach when I paint the last 3, but this looks real interesting. Thanks!

Wow, first off Saturday i went to the mailbox, and to my surprise Nuppin was in there. Wasn't scheduled to show up until Monday. Been using it for a couple of days in my dna40 gdeal bottom feeder with 28 gauge nickel and single coil. Holy sheeet wow, the triple play combo of all three is phenomenon. Pdib, thanks a lot for Nuppin (and Valheli too). Gdeal, i didn't think this bf could get any better, i was wrong.....even more awesome with dna40.

Also, got in a mech and another dna 3.1 from Sculpteo today. It was white polished and came in a day early. Hit it with micro duster and all parts fit perfectly. Even mo better, they look perfect. I was ...... with the last shell from Shapeways as the scan lines were hideous. After sanding them about as much as i could safely, the lines were so off, i can still see them after paint and clear coat. So i am extremely happy with Sculpteo.......thank you!

Aight Valheli, get ready for the swirloff.......LoL! Have you started using magic marble paints yet? The company that sells them is only a couple hrs drive up the road from me. But for 9 bucks a color versus a buck and a half for Testors, waiting for some really good reviews of that paint first.
