For the Fat Daddy classic 510 inserts, it says something in the description of them(on FD website) that they need to be tapped? What exactly am I tapping threads into?
I didn't see anything about needing a tap in the parts list of the build doc.

Also, why are the Fat Daddy classic 510 inserts only available in sets of 3? I don't need 3 of them.

For this build you won't need to tap the enclosure for the 510 connector.. For other enclosures the length of the base may not be long enough to put a nut on the 510 base. In those cases you would have to tap the hole so that the 510 would be secure.

I was thinking that was what he meant in the description, just needed to be sure, thank you for the explanation.

I have one last question for now
The 6ml bottles referenced in the build doc are unavailable, and I don't need 50 anyways, are they the same 6ml bottles available from ReosMods?

They were originally designed to be retrofit into other mods in which the original 510 had gotten stripped or damaged. In order to screw the the classic 510 insert into such a mod, you'd have to tap the original mod. You do not have to tap the printed bottom feeder mod; it's designed to accept the classic 510 insert from the get-go.

However, a 6-32 tap is useful to modify the Delrin insulator in the 510 insert. Such taps are available at any Lowes or Home Depot for about $5.00. See:

'Cause after you build one of these, you'll want more. :D

I went to ebay and they don't look unavailable to me. This same vendor sells lots of 25 also, but I'm sure there are others around here that could use more bottles. Is this the link you used?

Does that yield room temperature + 26 degrees..?

hush! :D

and that reminds me of a big mystery - all went well with this setting for a good while (coil at 2.2 ohm). then i walk away for a bit, come back, take a puff and i'm getting a nasty, nasty burned taste :?: mike has no explanation but thinks i need to get going with nickel coils so i can activate temp control.

No I used the link in the parts list, inside the build doc, and it still shows unavailable.
Redirecting
I know the seller has other listings, but following the official link in the parts list gets you to a removed listing

Regardless, I already have plenty of bottles from my Reo Grand, so if they are the same bottles then I would rather not buy more for no reason.
They look the same to me, can anyone verify that Reo Grand bottles will work just fine? Never mind, I found my answer

After a morning build and now the 3rd battery ... I find DNA40 powering nickel interesting...
Oh so many atties and coil combinations to mess with all over again!
A round of epoxy is setting in this pic

A first quick Ni200 coil ended up near .1Ω on a Divo and works pretty good

Max temperature kicks in to say, a squonk please :) pretty cool!
