So, I seem to be confused! It would seem the BobC magnet conversion would eliminate the spring problem in the button since the magnets would replace the spring but how would it solve the bottom "leaf spring" issue? RG are you referring to the thin bottom plate spring? That's what I thought you were referring to in the CC thread. That's why I chimed in with my REO spring suggestion wedging it in there between the bottom and top to keep spring action and not bend from continued battery replacement. BobC mentioned in response that he has never had an issue with the bottom "leaf spring". I ALWAYS had issues with it bending then not springing back to original shape when replacing the battery.:grr:

Guys ... what the heck is this magnet mod you are talking about .... and why BobC still hasn't posted any pictures ...
Not entirely sure, but Bob says he will post pics today sometime. I'm hoping it's something to do to eliminate the leaf spring problem.

That would be awesome!

Side note - anyone else getting the fancy Italian squonk bottles for their peko?

OK, so you see there are three magnets, two go in the same polarity to the cap, one goes reverse polarity to the positive pin terminal

Correct me if I'm wrong, it won't be the first time, but I believe Bobs magnet fix replaces the spring in the button assembly while most people interested are trying to avoid this:

I just replaced this one today after many months and a couple (OK, more than a couple) of drops. It was (somehow) still hitting pretty well.

:facepalm::facepalm:
Freeing it up to be mashed inside the positive contact?

You would have to cut it down, I found that trying to wedge something too big into the positive contact puts undue pressure on the bottom plate of the internals which can cause ugly cracks to appear :facepalm:

The one I tried was a REO spring and was cut down but apparently not enough :(

Oh geez, that sucks! I was going to do this ^ using a mini reo spring, but wasn't even sure it could handle the resistance... guess ill have to actually take some measurements! ugh.

Use the hvy button spring from the build kit. Have to shorten it a bit. Stuff it under the leaf spring. [emoji6]
