Hi everyone,

I'm new to vaping. Started 1 month and 4 days ago and switched from analogs right away. I purchased a Protank Mini II from a brick and mortar vape shop and it has been working out great. I love it! :)I wanted a second one for a backup, so I ordered one from fasttech. It arrived yesterday, and the first thing I noticed was that the gap between the glass tank and the center post is more narrow than my old one. After adding my liquid, I was only getting marginal vapor produciton, and then after a while, just burnt flavor. I thought I may have gotten a dud coil, so I replaced it. I noticed that the coil flavor wicks were dry. I added a couple drops of liquid to the new coil and enjoyed about 4-5 hits, but then it went dry again. If I let it sit a while, I can get 4-5 hits from it, but then it will go dry.

The two attached pictures are of the bottom of the tank. In the second picture, the tank on the left is the bad one, with the tank on the right as reference so you can see the difference in the gap between the glass and the center post. There's almost like a second lip around the tank.

Did I get a fake Kanger from fasttech? They advertised it as genuine Kanger.:(

Any suggestions are appreciated.

You might try flipping the plastic grommet upside down. It's the clear plastic ring that goes around the chimney on your coilhead. Doing this prevents the grommet from blocking the top portion of the wickholes in the "cup" part of the coil head. This typically allows more juice into the coil.

I've never done it with a stock head though, so be wary of flooding/gurgling. You can always flip it right back if it doesn't help.

I got a couple of fake Minis by accident (not from Fasttech) and had the same problems. I didn't realize at first that even if something is described as a "Protank" or other specific brand, you need to be careful to make sure they are saying "authentic" or "genuine" [BRAND]. Eventually I figured out how to make mine work by using real Kangertech coil heads (instead of the ones that came with them) and removing the little silicone cap entirely, plus using only one or no extra flavor wicks. No more dry / burnt hits.

(If you haven't removed a flavor wick before, there's a bit in this video showing how, though it's easier to do if you leave the coil head screwed in to the battery, then rock it back and forth a bit to remove, rather than just pulling.)

I don't know if this will help with yours, but good luck!
