Hello,

Not sure if this is a problem with my SB or the batteries I got. i have tenergy 3v 900mah rcr123a. I have 5 of them and all combination's seem to be having the same problem.

Fully charged - place them in the SB press the switch and they power the atomizer for random amounts of time. Normally the first drag will last a few seconds 10+ the just shuts off. The second drag will stop 1-10 seconds. Sometimes I press the switch and it will literally power for 1 second and shut off.. NO loss of vapor just a complete shutoff.

Anyone else have this problem?

Sounds like a switch problem to me....

Do you have any 18650 batts? Try a single cell battery first. If the single 18650 works with no problems it is the battery set. The PCB could be tripping in the CR123. Also what atty are you using with the CR123?

the single battery seems to be working fine. Haven't used it a lot yet bet "seems" to be ok.

I am using 510 atty's.

It is just really weird. I assumed it was the batteries and I had got 2 replacements from the place i got the batteries at because I told them they were failing. But seems the 2 replace ones they sent me are having the same issue. HHHMMMMM what to do what to do! :)

I would be willing to bet that you have a low resistance peach atty, prolly around 2.1 ohms, do you have a 901 or 801 you can try on the SB at 6v?

I had the exact same experience the other day. I thought that the batteries in the SB had run out. Changed them out with my carry-around, reserve set. It worked for two or three hits and then it seemed as if the batteries were dead again. Got home and changed to my third set of freshly charged batteries and again it happened.

I ended up completely cleaning all of the threads on the SB (they were dirty too and I'm not completely sure how the threads to the battery chamber get dirty like that, aren't they completely covered up, sealed 99.9% of the time?).

Anyway, after the cleaning, all my batteries were 'working' again and I have not had the problem since (knock on wood).

I dont think its batteries.. Sounds like a switch bad or not working correctly.
Read his other post, works fine on the single 18650 cell. CR123 are notorius for doing this. Another thing could be the battery neg post is not centered on the spring tap the bottom asgainst the palm of your hand to center them.

What you cleaned off was the NOALOX treatment I applied to it. Next time it happens, flip the batteries over. I.E. swap the top battery in the bottom batterie's place. If you drip alot, the juice could have been building up in the atty connector, be sure to only clean the atty connector with a q-tip DO NOT USE ALCOHOL.

So that's what it was, NOALOX...had me scratching my head.

I don't drip much. I used Deoxit to clean. Thank you for the tip regarding the batteries. If it does happen again (once more, knock on wood) that'll be the first thing I'll do.

i don't have a 901 or 801 as i am still somewhat new to vaping i started with the 510 and have not had any issues.... soooo have not had a real need to get a 901/801... BUT I do have 2 510 atomizers from your site are those low resistance? I have not included them in the 7 i have tried and the 7 i tried are from a different supplier... should I try those attys?

I have the same problem and its normal. The protection circuit in those Tenergy's kicks in and you have to put them back on the charger for a few sec's then they power rt back up. Alot of people have this problem w/them and its unbelieveably annoying.

The real question....is ... what batteries should we use for the SB that WONT do this?

:) I have the 18650s and they work great, but not enough for me. I NEED 6v w/my SB, it DEFINATLEY NOT the switch. they are pure quality switches and these units are VERY solid. Its the Tenergy's for sure....

I too, will wait for Chad to tell us what batts to use n where to get them ;)

510 atty range between 2.2 ohm and 2.7 ohm, about 1 ohm less than the 801/901. As far as what batteries to use, I use the same batts that you do Chris. I have to "reset" my batteries even on a 901 atty @6v on occasion. I do not use a 510 on 6v, I do not care for the taste. I am willing to bet that there is a bad batch of CR123 in the market...... I bought mine over 2 months ago.....
