Ok so last night I put my Jwrap on my vamo... all was working well until about 3:30 this afternoon... I went outside to vape and I got a tiny hit off of my vamo and then it wasn't working correctly. I looked around at it and was checking the ohms of my coils. My 2.8 ohm kangertech single coil is reading 4.6 ohms. I took my vamo to the nearest vape shop and they fiddled with the center pin and still nothing. Does anybody know whats going on with it?

What version Vamo do you have? I have a v2 and this happened to me last year. It has something to do with the rubber o ring under the pin breaking. I read around and found that you can buy a similar sized o ring to replace it but getting under that pin is a SOB! I did eventually get it replaced but my Vamo sadly never worked the same. It fired all my tanks just fine but they were wobbly and didn't sit right or sometimes wouldn't fire unless I was applying pressure to the pin. I finally got fed up and got a sigieli zmax v5 :(

I have had a similar problem, I have the V5 as well and use the Protank 3 on it. I have had issues with dry fires if that makes sense? There is no heating of the coil or anything. I usually have to just unscrew the bottom on my protank and screw it back on, and it works fine afterwards. I have noticed however, that it does not do it when I keep the tank full, it only happens when the tank get's about half empty to a quarter empty. I too have only had it for a little over a week, almost 2 weeks now. It's one of the main reasons why I am getting a different mod on payday lol. I LOVE my Vamo, but I need reliability and consistency.

Tried filling it and unscrewing and everything and nothing works -.- Also, which mod are you looking into getting?

anybody else got any ideas what the cause could be?

Did you try a different head or tank?

I have a V2 Vamo that's about a year old now and working fine. Of course I've had it apart a time or two. Did a mod on the cap and cleaned the switch and reset the board after I dropped it. But it's still going for now. Although it is going to be retired when the XPV gets here.

That has happened to one of 4 of my v3s and it was from my keeping the center clean and allowing juice to set in there from a leaky carto tank. Usually it's reading 9.9 ohm life nothing is there I jammed the ring around the pos pin down and I it worked for a while but it's prolly on its way out :-(

The good thing about the vamo is the parts are cheap and easy to get.If i were you i would buy a new top cap for it and solder it in if you can't solder find some one who can and if it still doesn't work buy a cheap $11.00 board for it.The instructions for installing the vamo 510 top cap can be found bottom of this page and you can order it from there also.Vamo Body Parts

Try a solution swab w alcohol let it sit in the center pin home for a while, rinse, repeat... That helped me along for a while but eventually the ring took a crap that's around the pin. I haven't gotten into it yet I'm check it out and see how much is involved in replacement.

I just placed an order from www.ecigaretteimpressions.Com and they are very cool, helpful and they even had directions on how to fix my vamo, with the same problem as yours the pin is screwed up they sell the whole top pieces, I tore mine out and I'm going to solder 2 wires and press it in Wahl ah!

Also if you have a v3 and want the non tapered v2/v5 top you can get it and they are interchangeable and visa versa.

Did you literal rip it out uncontrolled or were you able to unseat it gently?

I screwed a tube section to the top where the ring goes and used that as leverage to wiggle it lose, I did it by hand but I could see it being a pita, when I started making headway I eased up and it came out with ease, I didn't want to rip the wires off.
It's not a tough job but you don't want to pull hard on the wires,

Did it take you like half hour to an hour or trying or did you get it out in minutes?

I can't seem to get mine to budge
