Problem with "stuffing"

Hey! I have been using my 510 for about a month and LOVE it. However, when I try to refill cartridges with the polyester fiberfill I bought, it just doesn't work the same.

I'm not sure if I bought the wrong kind of batting, but it doesn't seem to "hold" the liquid well and when I draw, it feels as if there is a blockage or something.

I have watched the how-to videos and think I am following the examples, but it just doesn't seem to work well. The other issue is that after stuffing, I get a slight burning sensation in my throat when I inhale.

It works, just not like it did with the original cartridges that I just had to drip on.

Any ideas? Thanks-I love this forum it is the best thing I found since I quit smoking!

The original "stuffing" sucks period. It has many problems.

Check to see if you have too much stuffed in the cart. If it's too tightly packed, the juice won't penetrate it. I overstuffed my first batch, and had the same problem.

I prefer poly fill to the tea bags. I end up getting liquid in my mouth with the tea bags. You could try the straw mod, and using less stuffing as suggested. As for the burning sensation, I don't know if it would cause that, but did you make sure the poly fill you got was untreated? If it has the label that says it complies with California's fire safety whatever, then it's got some flame ......ant chemical on it, and that's not good to use.

To the OP: the 'blockages' you speak of could be down to air pockets. I had the same problems when I started.

To get around this, I started placing a small amount of liquid in a contact lense case, then dropping the stuffing into the liquid, then re-stuffing it into the cart using a paper clip (sounds cumbersome, but it's not)

This eliminated the problem for me.

Now that I am more adept and more used to e-cigs, I sometimes still use this method; other times I use an eye-dropper, depending on my mood, but the point I am trying to make is an unevenly filled cart with air-bubbles can give you stuttering performance which feels like 'blockages'

Aww crap-it does say it meets the flammability requirements of California etc. etc. Maybe that is why.

At some point in time the "Windmill Method" which can also be known as the "Thermometer Method" if you wish, will end all wicking issues with the 510 model, and I suspect all of the similar issues that will be introduced with the introduction of the manual batteries for the 801, 901, and 410 models as well.

Or you can try the straw mod, which should also help if you do it right.

Once i started dripping, i have no problems like stuffing or leakage, just give it a try
