Hi there, I am a visually impaired user and have problems with dripping. I have only one eye and so depth perception is a luxury I do not have. I may have to go the route of buying prefilled carts unfortunately. I was wondering if an atty will die faster if there is no extra wetness from dripping directly on it. If not, then is there a need for someone like me to buy extra fluid? Are there any techniques for those of us who are terrible drippers? I've had my Joye 510 since yesterday, delivered IN PERSON by Mike from Esmokeys and he even sat down with me and showed me how to drip the fluid. He's probably more expensive than other places but for a noob, I'd reccomend him if you live in the Northwestern Suburbs of Chicago. I have problems with completely missing the cart and smearing it all over the sides of the e-cig. Any suggestions or sources for good quality but cheap carts would be awesome. Also, this may be a service well under served, maybe someone can make a little extra money by filling blank carts for people who just can't do it themselves.

I think I would recommend cartomizers. It's one less piece for you to deal with, and will last you longer before you need to pop on a new one. Also, if you have friends or family in the area, you could always see if they will refill them for you every few days (or once a week if you get enough of them to start up). I think it would add to your vaping enjoyment. A cartomizer is basically the cartridge and the atty all in one. They also need less refilling than the cartridge, and I think give a better throat hit.
That's just my two cents though. Someone may have a better suggestion. Now that I think of it, I haven't looked into them much.. but maybe a juice box? Not sure if that will be a good device, someone will correct me if I am wrong.
In any case.. congrats on the good choice, and best of luck with all of it.. please keep us posted!

Hey Thanks! I am really enjoying the vaping experience. I saw a lot of youtube videos and other things describing it but I didn't realize how much help it would be until I actually tried it. They said it's not exactly like the real thing, and its not... but it's so close that I don't miss my analogs at all so far. I only have 2 real cigs left and so far they're sitting in my nightstand and hopefully I'll be able to not use them, maybe at some point I'll even throw them out... flush em, shred em, whatever fun things i can think of. I'll research these cartomizers and see what I can find out. I've heard about a problem where people get a burnt taste in their cartomizers, but I believe that problem is from people trying to extend the life of the cartomizer...am I wrong? I usually push the button for about 5 to 8 seconds and sometimes my atty gets a little warm but never really hot. For a 10 cig a day guy like myself, how often do you think I'd have to chuck my old one in favor of a new one. Also, what about variety, can I still get unique and weird juices when buying a self contained thing like that? I am sort of reluctant to back myself into a corner where I have to spend a lot more than everyone else and can't try out some DIY juice. Thanks!
I would suggest a wide mouth t-tip Super T Manufacturing, Innovative manufacturer of electronic cigarette products.
I use the 4081 atty and the cartridge. The latter I cut the solid end off.
To drip, I use a Capella’s bottle. I just take the lid off and stick the dropper end in the top of the cartridge---at this point it centers itself. I squeeze and remove.
I’ve done this in the dark by feel only so you should be able to do it.
To fill the Capella’s bottle, I use a medicine dropper. You can use the medicine dropper to measure how much of what you want to put into the Capella’s bottle.

Cartomizers are fairly easy to refill. There's no need to be super-precise with the drops, as long as they go INTO the carto you're good. You may have to let them rest a bit so the center hole clears though, but that's a small worry.
If you smoked less than a half pack a day, cartomizers should last really well for you. No more than two a day, I'd guess, but mileage varies, of course.
Vapor4Life sells a HUGE variety of flavors in prefilled cartos, and they don't cost much more than blanks. Plus the price of atomizers is built right in, so it might be a better deal for you all around.

Forgive my confusion but I thought Cartomizers were throw-away devices that you vaped up and then tossed away. Would that be incorrect? I know you can fill a carto but for someone who has difficulty would it be cost-effective to just toss the unit away once i was dry and replace it with another one. The sad thing is I know attys can last up to 1 - 3 months and the cart will be dry within a day or so, so tossing it is a waste but if it can't be helped... I guess that's just how goes, right?
I too have vision problems and went over a month with one eye. I use cartomizers and they are great. When refilled them I just counted the drops and held the bottle with the dripper inside. I also found a magnifying glass really helped. I'm going to a transplant Dr. next week.
Oh, I see, so there's no fluff to worry about you just jam the tip of the bottle in the hole and squeeze? That really helps because you can't really do that with the regular carts with the fluff. I also heard people use syringes to put the juice in. How practical is that? I am researching this for myself but also a totally blind guy that I am trying to get switched over to e-cigs. I use a carto for about a week before tossing it into the "dead" pile. That's about the max I get before they taste gunky and need a proper washing out.
They are a little more expensive than straight carts, but the upside is you never have to mess with atomizers. They are probably the most "plug and play" option out there. You will spend a little more money, but the convenience is worth it for me, and I've got two good eyes. You may find that the expense is more than justified for you.

Ideally you should count the drops to prevent overfilling. I wouldn't jam the tip into the cart, I would hold it above and just drip into it to keep track of how much you've put in.
I don't use a syringe, but it might work well for limited sight. You can measure about 1ml for a fresh, blank carto and it should be about right. No drops to count that way.
And prefilled cartos wouldn't present any difficulty for a totally blind person, other than the fact that they don't come labeled in braille. They'd have to have a system for keeping flavors separated so they know what they are getting.
This is why I wish someone would create a "Dripper's Juice Pump." Something similar to what Johnson Creek offers, i.e. a lighter sized 5ml juice bottle with a nozzle that easily slips into a drip tip or cart, but with a switch to select 1 to 4 drops. Press the plunger, get that many drops. IMO, this would make things much easier for the visually impaired, and frankly for anyone in general who prefers to drip.

God that would be great! I have a guy locally who delivers stuff to my door, how awesome is that! He suggested drip-tips because you can just do a couple squeezes, not worry about how much is in there and just start puffin' away. This still seems like a lot of work. I kinda would like the convenience of lighting up a regular cigarette back but minus the tar and excess chemicals. I wonder if anyone has a good source for cheap pre-filled cartos? My guy is great for fast delivery but he probably charges a premium for that kind of service. I am still on my starter kit and I am really getting tired of menthol. I wanna get maybe 10 cartos but have each one be a different flavor so I can check various things out. Maybe someone already answered this question but I forget now, about how many hours / puffs do you get on a single pre-filled carto before it needs to be tossed or refilled ~shudder~ I hate refilling, LOL!

Never thought of this! That could pose a big problem but I'm happy to hear there are other options.
You may want to look at some form of juice-fed mod. There are a few that can be had for under $60 that are compatible with any attys or cartomizers that you may already have. It should be easier to fill a bottle once or twice a day versus even filling a cartomizer.
A juice box type of mod would be perfect for you. Elindel is right. Just a little squeeze on the button and away you go . It is a auto drip type of thing.

I think Cartomizers would be a Great thing to try. Perhapse you can get a weeks worth or so of prefilled ones. Then save them when they are empty and then have someone come over and help you refill them for you once a week.
