Havn't had any problems myself. Most people don't seem to notice, or aren't brave enough to confront me...

But here's what you can tell people:

"It's not a cigarette. It is a nebulizer. A medical device that helps me abstain from smoking. It contains no carcinogens, produces no harmful second-hand smoke, and the liquid that is vaporized is regarded as safe for consumption by the FDA.

If you have further questions, please visit Electronic Cigarette Association, as it is a valuable source of information on the topic.

Thank you for your concern, and have a pleasant day!"

That's my answer, just in case i am confronted one of these days.

Yes, I wrote that myself, and you may feel free to copy/redistribute the quote as you see fit. I do not care if I am cited.

Hope this helps.

(But if anyone decides to print a couple of these off, send me a couple, or a picture, i'm always intrigued by what our fellow members are able to come up with)

Only trouble with what you say is that the FDA has NOT said the device is safe and in fact the FDA wants to ban the device. Calling it a medical device is also very misleading to say the least...

But if you want to lie to people I guess it's an effective statement to make.

While it may be technically accurate, it is misleading insomuch as:
"It's not a cigarette. It is a nebulizer. A medical device that helps me abstain from smoking. It contains no carcinogens, produces no harmful second-hand smoke, and is regarded as safe for consumption by the FDA.

A less misleading statement would be:
"It's not a cigarette. It is a nebulizer. A device that helps me abstain from smoking. It contains no carcinogens, produces no harmful second-hand smoke, and the ingredients of the fluid within are generally regarded as safe for consumption by the FDA.

If you have further questions, please visit Electronic Cigarette Association, as it is a valuable source of information on the topic.

Thank you for your concern, and have a pleasant day!"

For my part, I intend on tapping my watch, looking confused and saying "This is going to sound odd but (dramatic pause) what year is it?"
