Gentlemen and Ladies,

Setup:
Riva 1100mah battery
SMOKTECH C.C.V. LR 1.7 OHM XL CARTOMIZERS (THE RESURRECTOR)
Liquid from tastyvapor.us, the "Blue Bulls" flavor with sweetener and a 80%/20% PG/VG mix

It has now been a year since I quit cigarettes (best decision of my life). Originally I started with a Riva 1100mah kit from nhaler.com with the attys they sell and at first for a novice it was great and helped me quit smoking quickly as the taste was great and the nicotine control was reasonable with trying a few different juices.

I have stayed with the Riva 1100 but changed to cartomizers since dripping was not easy to do as I work in an industry where it is not easy to stop every few minutes and drip into my rig.

I am currently having an issue that I am not sure of the origin. It seems that my batteries are dying very quickly (2-3 hours of battery life tops). I keep 3 batteries and rotate them on charge during the day. I charge them in my office and at home (typically for 6 or so hours, never less than 4 hours on charge). After 2 or so hours of vaping the taste in the cartos gets bitter and "burny" and it almost seems like the carto is clogged as if the battery is not vaping properly. I literally have to put on a new carto every 2 days in order to keep a taste of the vape that does not resemble burning a penny in a cottonball.

I have tried to fix the problem by buying new batteries, buying new chargers, and trying the SMOKTECH C.C.V. LR 1.7 OHM XL CARTOMIZERS (THE RESURRECTOR), but it seems like the problem is still the same.

I use liquid from tastyvapor.us, the "Blue Bulls" flavor with sweetener and a 80%/20% PG/VG mix.

Anyone know what I can do to get more life from my cartos or from my batteries? I am pretty much willing to try anything that wont cost me an arm and a leg to keep me vaping, but at this point I seem to be spending upwards of $100 a month in just cartos and that just seems like way too much.

Thank you in advance,
Micah

First of all, 1.7Ω is a very low resistance for a Riva battery--it will drain it much faster than a higher resistance carto. Tasty Vapor ejuices tend to be sticky, especially if they contain a lot of sweeteners and flavorings--that stuff accumulates on the coil of your atty pretty quickly and the performance goes south. I'm not familiar with the Blue Bells flavor, but the TV juices I had tried were very hard on my cartos. And finally, how old are your batteries? They don't last forever, and if you're stressing them out with LR cartos, they may be on their last legs...

My advice would be to try higher resistance cartomizers (I like Boge 2.0Ω and SmokTech single-coil 2.0 or 2.5Ω cartos the best) and maybe experiment a little with lighter, cleaner ejuices--without too much additives.

That said, cartomizers are disposable. Even if you take good care of them--don't overvape, use clean juices and top them off frequently--they can only process no more than 6-10 ml of ejuice. After that, flavor and vapor production begin to diminish due to the gunk build-up on the coil. However, I've seen many reports that using a cartomizer tank dramatically extends the life of a cartomizer.

Good luck and happy vaping!
