First off,
as a computer geek I'm well-aware of how arguements over preference play out (Linux
vs Windows discussions are nothing but bash fests), so I'm paying zero attention to those posts. And Denniswking, feel free to stay the hell out of my thread. I didn't come here to babysit. To anyone giving their opinion of a product, please stick to experience.
Comments like, "I've never had one but they suck" are absolutely worthless.
One more thing... careful with the acronyms, folks. I'm still learning so don't assume I
know what they stand for... like something has AFS (?). It's greek at this point.
So back on topic.
Thanks everyone for the opinions and reviews. I've been reading like crazy to try and
get a grasp on everything, and watching Youtube reviews, etc. LOTs of information. I'm
one of those people that don't make impulse buys, I go over everything.
I'm still stuck in the debating portion of my thought process. I'm reading/watching some
pretty awesome reviews. I understand that "mods" like the Chuck and Silver Bullet are
just that... but at the same time, I would hope that they'd have more dependability
than something "off the shelf" if you know what I mean. Of all the parts, the battery
section is the one that's supposed to last, right? The only failing would be the switch
and maybe threads. The Chuck certainly looks like a plastic switch, so it's an obvious
concern, while the rest of it appears pretty freakin' sturdy.
OH, and I was mis-typing on the button thing. It's the Silver Bullet that has the button
I like, not the Protege. Bah. In case you can't tell, looks matter to me. I've read posts
where people talk about how you'll get over the look and size, blah blah. NOT ME. My
personal computer is custom built and shiny. I love it. My monitor is a Dell 2407 and
looks kick .... So yea, if something looks "cheap" I'll never spend money on it. That's
just me.
