6V vaping on the Prodigy 801 is GREAT .. Just received mine today .. Took a big hit on fresh batteries and almost fell out of my chair .. WOW .. But I was thinking, same as the GGT - 6V for me in the morning is TOO MUCH and since you can't shorten the prodigy, I was wondering if anyone has ever used the 3V spacer battery. I saw them when ordering my batteries a few weeks ago .. Wish I picked a few up so I could tame the Prodigy down in the morning...

Here is the link .. forgot that ..

So you've got the Switch Without Resistor. [Otherwise you'd be vaping at 5V.]

Why not use the 18650 Battery (3.7v - 2200mAh), for which that switch is also intended?

I'm surprised to see that Puresmoker's price of $7.99 is cheaper than Battery Junction's sale price of $8.95 ... and their prices for the Charger For 18650 Batteries are virtually identical ($14.99 vs. $14.95).

I second that suggestion, if you have the resistor less switch a 18650 does a fantastic job! Peak charge voltage of 4.2v is really nice, plus not having to charge more than every couple days. It's my second favorite configuration (Prodigy with 5v being the first).

If you are using the stock CR123A's that came with the prodigy however you might not be happy with the spacer. These batteries are only rated at 3.0 volts, standard ecig batteries are 3.7. I understand the need for a light vape in the morning, I usually start the day with my Janty Stick. After vaping at 5 volts, it's like breathing air.

I have had my Prodigy less than a day... Having a hard time with a burnt taste. I am waiting on new attys to arrive. Maybe tomorrow. Right now I am using my JantyStick battery.. They do a fine job on the Stick.. I have too many PVs... So far the JS is my favorite. Except for it being plastic. Love the feel of the Prodigy but I wont comment on my BIGGEST disappointment..

cant find the thread but this afternoon tried leaving the cart off... makes dripping a breeze... worried that I will burn my lips though... need an atty condom for protection.
My "atty condom" is the black mouthpiece without the cart (either pull out the white cart or use the mouthpiece that comes with the atty).

As for that burnt taste, make sure that your atty is always moist (dripping 2-3 drops) as frequently as necessary. [NOTE; I've never had to drip every 30 seconds.] Also consider ordering the switch with resistor. Steve (and many of us) have found 5.0V (accomplished with the resistor) to be the "sweet spot."

I second Don, I have a unresistored switch and I run at both 3.7 and 6v's.
I bought my 18650's here..
Rechargeable Batteries & Battery Chargers - 2 Li-Ion 18650 3.7V 2200 mAh cells with protection PCB with TL100 Li-Ion Universal Battery Charger because at the time PS was out. Use "Tenergydeals" for free shipping, got them in 2 days by UPS.
No need for a spacer.

Thanks for seconding my motion, Wench!

That source you linked is All-Battery.com. In the "CR 123a battery alternative source" thread, Antebellum has reported significant problems dealing with them, as did tparganos and Shan123 in that same thread.

trashling just mentioned in her Prodigy Tamer - Spacer Battery thread that she had ordered (and received) batteries a few weeks ago from Battery Junction. She didn't mention any problems associated with her order.

Might that be a more reliable battery source for us (in addition to Puresmoker, of course)?

Yeah, I've heard of some of the delay's they have had. That was my only order with them and it was good fortunately :D
I just did a order with Battery Junction this week for some 16340's and it was fast ( Beat my other mod in that I ordered lol)

Good to have a few sources just in case:thumbs:
