OK I took my switch apart for cleaning. The specific part was getting bad was the part where you unscrew / screw to lock or unlock the switch. It was getting really hard to turn an gunked up.

I took the entire switch apart every little piece, down to the bottom part of the switch where i needed to clean in between. I wiped everything down with an isopropyl alcohol 91%, I then put everything back together, the exact way I found it (even cross checked the guide).

So the problem begins... I put the batteries back in, then I screw in the adapter (with atomoizer already attached), as soon as i tighten it down I check the switch, its in the the "unlocked" position and I cannot push it in, at all, its like its already pressed. Then the atty starts smoking like crazy! I quick unscrewed the adapter...

I've been at this for an hour now, atty disconnected of course, and every time i tighten the adapter down on the batteries, it pushes the switch all the way out and makes contact, without me even having to push the button. Its as if the tube shrunk. If i dont tighten the adapter down all the way, i can press it in and out, but the tighter i make it the less give the button has!

Help! If i dont get this working soon I'm gonna go buy a pack of smokes just out of spite.

So i started testing it with no spring at all to see if it would still do it and it does... and I lost my temper kind of an slammed the button down on the arm rest of my chair to force it to impress with the batteries and all parts tightend down... seems to have fixed it more or less...

I've been using this thing for a while now I'm really not sure why all of the sudden I had a problem like that.

thanks for everyone jumping in quickly to help :)

not sure this is a good thing ... You may have dented the batteries.

Do you mind taking a picture of the switch? I can help to make sure everything is back in properly. If the button doesn't depress in the unlocked position, its likely not put together correctly. With a pictures, I can diagnose it pretty quickly :)
