The beauty of the forum is the anonymous part and taking people for what they have to offer without preconceived ideas. If I know your age, gender, profession I come into the conversation with "judgment". I've learned so much here and I have no idea who it comes from, most all are terrific and all have great and insightful input, some I take to heart and some not but never based on their age, sex, etc. Welcome to the world of www.
I know I'm gonna sound like an idiot, but I haven't quite figured out how to make my pic show up next to my posts! Where you edit your profile it shows, but when I post it doesn't. Not hiding, just inept, I guess.

You have to put it in "Edit Avatar". It can only be 150 x 150 pixels, for regular members and use a .jpg or .gif file.

I enjoy all the information presented and know that it is from the posters perspective.
It is up to me to use it at face value, filter it to suit my needs, use it as a starting point for more investigation, take the questions it may bring up in me and look at them, and/or keep looking for the insights, information, or specifics I want.
That said, I am influenced by everyones choice of Avatars, especially the ones in Pink TuTus.

Yeah Im not big on profiles (I think Im sporting Pikachu at the moment lol) - and if you live in a small town its better to remain annoymous than aquire a stalker
You can usually tell from the posts if people are talking sense, nonsense, or out of an orifice usually reserved for other things
One way to check out your respondent is look at their posting history.
Most people on THIS forum aren't little kids that want to speak 'l337' but adults who can offer sincere advice or just an educated opinion.
FYI most 'kids' think using a PV is about as far from cool as you can get because its something their parents or grandparents do (how uncool is THAT!)

Yes - I hear you (Loud and Clear) CaptJay - it's been made very clear to me. I didn't mean to cause any bad feelings. I was having "one of those" moments earlier but I will have to say this thread has made me unwind and enjoy the fact that its "The Weekend !"

I find myself looking at post history too, if I'm wondering about a person. People can say anything they want to about themselves. Who knows if any of it is true. I get a much better idea about who they are by what they say. That being said, I have yet to encounter anyone who's advice I find questionable.

I still think - at least a pic of one's self (within their profile) is not a bad thing - but I guess that's just my opinion.
