It's been a while since I did a full review(been occupied with the revived UK Vapers forum), but here is a new one at last (warning - long and image heavy):
The ELA is a nice device to use with a Kick or similar gadget because the Kick doesn't need to be removed when changing batteries.
To install the Kick, remove the battery tube, then remove the end cap and insert the kick:

Prof Beard... I have to disagre with you on your insertion method of a KICK... You dont want to remove the top atty end cap and insert the Kick from the top...If you do that it will pass the threads causing wear and tear of the Kicks contact spring and shrink wrap... The Kick is to be insrted from the bottom end of the extention tube...that way it only passes thru the smooth walls of the tube...When removing a Kick the you unscrew the top cap and push it downward out the bottom of the tube..... Otherwise great reveiw:)

I'll agree with you on that one - on reflection, inserting the Kick from the bottom makes sense. I was thinking in terms of not inserting and removing it frequently, so didn't really consider the issue you raise.

I've edited my review to cover your comment

Hello prof beard, you mentioned using a USB mircoscope? I love macro photography and use a Canon 60D with a USM 100mm Canon macro lens. I have heard of special microscopes to use with cameras, is this what you use? I sometimes wish I could get in even closer to my subjects.

Here is a cool shot I took of ELA

Looks like your lens is already a 1:1 macro. Other than going micro, you could always just grab a longer focal length. I'm pretty sure Canon has a 180mm 1:1 macro. Sorry, I don't know much about Canons since I'm a Nikon guy
