You have to watch Firefly in order before watching the movie Serenity, though.

The reason Firefly failed as a TV series is because the dumbass suits at FOX aired the series out of order and left folks scratching their heads and wondering what was going on.

Ahh yes that's right. Forgot about that because I actually never watched the series until after I had seen the movie. I actually got to watch it in order and then rewatched the movie.... a few times. :)

Right! Just like Nbc? ruining the Sword of Truth. Still very upset. Was looking so forward to it, then blah. Hell of a series though (in text). Thats great that the movie is from the series! Now I'm really going to watch it all!
Thanks guys! downloading now hehe

Never heard of Sword of Truth. I'll have to look it up.

Now all this talk of Serenity and Firefly though has me watching Serenity again on Netflix right now lol

I always thought angus's avatar was that guy from numbers the mathematician. lol

I think it's the same actor.

that he is. I still get a kick out of his "toughguy" FBI brother being the goofy kid from Northern Exposure lol

The series I am looking for now is Red Dwarf. I see that I can get a box set of the entire series on DVD for $99. It's like 18 DVDs... that's a lot of funny, right there.

A friend of mine from across the pond tried to get me to watch a clip (like 10 minutes) of that on youtube once but I was busy and didn't give it a chance before closing it. I'll have to check it out again sometime.

Oh my, Its a GREAT read!! Can't vouch for the butchered off putting (imo) tv series though. I mean they seriously ruined it like never imagined. I was prepared for difference and when they mentioned Sam Rami is working on it and how the cast looked perfect . The excitement just grew and grew UNTIL it was released . I still Try to watch it occasionally and since I read 11 of the 12 series, you'd figure there will always be something that looks even remotely familiar..Wrong everytime. Complete 180

lol I hate to admit it but I actually kind of liked that movie. I liked the soundtrack even more.

Then again I had never read the book to compare it to either.

One of the biggest screwups I have ever seen done in the transition from print to screen is one book where there was a guy who was a black cop and in the movie the character with his name was suddenly a white cop in the KKK. 8-o

Yeah, I suppose you'd have to have read the books (it was a mash-up of three of Anne Rice's books) to realize how bad they mangled it.

Oh yeah I can see how that would make it seem a mess.
I do remember thinking how something was off about the opening of it that didn't mesh with the movie version of Interview. I think it was the timeline of the Lestat characters "awakening".

YES Well said Angus. Thats the best way to put it. Queen of the damned was a ridiculously great book until..ugh

Oh man Thy! What was that one??

A Time To Kill. It has been so long since I've watched or read it that I don't remember who it was in the story but I complained about it during the movie and my father still mentions it every now and then til this day lol
