don't know what suppliers make from it :p

this china manufacurer sites are really a pain.

leeshor - The other models still go by their original and long names.... Kr808a... and so forth. The most common and widely used model is the Kr808D-1... and THAT is the one that is referred to as the Kr8. It is pretty well covered on the first page of this thread.

ImYourSalt - Calling it by the number designation doesn't differentiate it from the other, very different models, which share that number in their names. Kr8 is distinctive enough to make the difference clear.

Of course - this is not a PV police state... anyone may chose to call any model by whatever they like. However Kr8 IS wonderfully clever and fun to say!

BUT, they are different. D-1 and D-2 are not just different lengths. The cartos are not interchangeable. I don't think this is one of those things where someone is calling the same thing by different names. The batteries and cartos are NOT the same.
