Something's missing. I'm guessing you know that KR8 is only one of at least 3 models now available. There is a D-2 and a D-3.
are they not only manual and extended battery versions ? *checking Kanger*

is "808" not good enough? we call all the others by their call numbers. 901... 510... 4075... etc...

leeshor - The other models still go by their original and long names.... Kr808a... and so forth. The most common and widely used model is the Kr808D-1... and THAT is the one that is referred to as the Kr8. It is pretty well covered on the first page of this thread.
ImYourSalt - Calling it by the number designation doesn't differentiate it from the other, very different models, which share that number in their names. Kr8 is distinctive enough to make the difference clear.
Of course - this is not a PV police state... anyone may chose to call any model by whatever they like. However Kr8 IS wonderfully clever and fun to say!

is this so ? i wonder why kanger themself name the manual version KR808D-1P then
i would find it only useful for reference to have sometimes the correct model types handy. for manual / long battery and so on if its manageable to find on the manufacurer sites.

BUT, they are different. D-1 and D-2 are not just different lengths. The cartos are not interchangeable. I don't think this is one of those things where someone is calling the same thing by different names. The batteries and cartos are NOT the same.
leeshor - Exactly! The more popular Kr808D-1 is referred to as the Kr8 and the less common Kr808D-2 is still called the Kr808D-2.
