I just grabbed a roughstack and got the batteries to pump the voltage to 7.4. I purchased a 5pk of 5OHM cartos and a 5OHM 510 atty. Once I fired it all up, I found that the atty got very hot after about 3 puffs. I put the same atty onto a 5V and 6V and it stays relatively cool.

I have looked high and low for an atty/carto that has a higher resistance than 5. Anyone know of a vendor that sells em?

Thanks in advance for any info.

remember that your 2 3.7v batteries (i sure hope you got protected ones!) when fully charged each have a open voltage of 4.2v so when you first hit that button, you're probably vaping closer to 8v (depending upon your batteries abilities to supply the necessary current). that said, w/ a 5 ohm atty or carto, you're vaping somewhere around 12-13 watts, and things will certainly get warm. at 6 volts w/ the same atty, you're at around 7 watts, and at 5 volts you're at around 5 watts.

with all that said, i don't know of any atty that's any higher than your 5 ohm ones. of course, one could be constructed, but i'll leave that to the modder's forum :) building attys is beyond my experience at this point.

some food for thought:
what led you to want to try 7.4v? attempts at 6v not satisfying? what was the resistance of your atty/carto when you tried 6v? could you perchance lower that a bit? 6 volts w/ a 3 ohm atty/carto should give you 12 watts, which is a very warm vape (to me, anyway). at 5v, a standard joye 510 atty (2.5-2.2 ohms) will give you about 10 to a little over 11 watts. again, just food for thought, i hope i was able to sorta answer your question, or maybe point you in the right direction :)

Substitute those 3.7V 16340s with 3.0V 16340s. With a 4.5-4.7 ohm HV atomizer (e.g., from NHaler or AtmosUSA) such a 6V setup yields a wonderfully intense ~8 watts of power. [Other alternatives include Liberty-Flights' 4.2 ohm HV5 and 5.0 ohm HV6 atomizers, which would yield 8.6 and 7.2 watts respectively.]

If you do choose to stick with 7.4V, try AtmosUSA's 5.5 ohm HV6 atty for a 10 watts experience.
