A while back I bought one LR 510 atty, just to see if I liked it. Well, I never found out because as soon as I hit the button on my eGo, the atty blew. All I got was a brief puff of smoke. I primed it with 4 drops of liquid and waited a couple seconds before hitting the button. Did I do something wrong or was this failure due to a defect?

defect most likely.. I have never had that happen and I have used many of them in a months time and never had that happen to any of mine.. good luck..
sounds like it was a defective atty. did you create a ticket on the website for a warranty?
No, I haven't, but I may do that. I wasn't really concerned about what it cost, I just wanted to be sure I hadn't done anything wrong.
