PROPER VG/PG RATIOS?

hiya, guys.
i
m trying to figure this stuff out.
before i try diy, i need to know what i need.
initially, i bot 4 random fruit flavors at 75/25.
i guess that ratio worked in the smok tpriv, in the hour before it died, tho i couldn't get the baby beast tank to stop sipping or leaking.
i understand that this ratio is for higher watts, but what wattage is needed for this?
i can't even get this loaded into my pipe mod.
i dilute 6 tablespoons of it with 1 tablespoon of water, just to use it.
i just received a zineth tank with 1.6 coils, so i ordered 50/50 for those.
is that correct?
this morn, i got a voopoo drag mini.
it's using .6 coils n at 23 watts it seems to be a modified dtl thing, close to mouth to lung.
it works fine with 75/25 which supprized me.
where is the cut off?
will .6 coils also work with 50/50?
i don't care for the 25/75 juice i have. i'll dump these n save the bottles.
i need to know if the juice i have coming will work.
if it won't, i need to order a higher vg juice.
is there a chart somewhere?

any tips you can give me would be great.

There are no charts that I am aware of. Trial and error seems to be the best course.

In general, most MTL (mouth-to-lung) tanks using drop in coil heads don't handle heavy Vg juices well. Their coil wick holes are usually on the small size, so the thicker vg juices don't wick as fast and you may be prone to the dreaded dry hit.

Most DTL (direct-to-lung) (sub0hm) tanks that use drop in coils have much larger wick holes and can handle 100% vg juices without dry hits.

I agree with @Baditude; the "best" PG/VG ratio is dictated more by juice port size and how tightly the wicking material is packed, than power level. Power can impact flavor, as well as vapor production. But has only secondary influence on wicking capacity/ability.

Many of today's newer atomizers are designed to accommodate the more popular high VG e-liquids. Make sure you check the manufacturer's (vs. the reseller you bought it from) website for any specific recommendations. As well as specific priming instructions. Because, many drop-in coils have tightly packed wicking, it is often advised to prime the coil and even let it sit for 10-15 minutes, before vaping on it. Otherwise, it is possible to scorch the wicking (which tastes nasty!), and even burn through the wire.

As for power recommendations; I let the flavor dictate that. I prefer to start below the manufacturer's recommended minimum, and slowly increase it (2-5 watts at a time; depending on how broad the recommended range is), until I find what wattage provides the best flavor for the e-liquid I am currently using.

thanks tons, joel. i needed those instructions.
i haven't looked to se if the innokin has instructions.
the voopoo kit is supposed to come with instructions, but they wee not in the box.
lucky for me, when you turn on the unit, it goes to the recommended watts for this tank, so i;m using it, but i'm afraid to look for other functions.
bad, thanks for the general guidelines. i'll keep them in mind.
it would be nicer if a tank came with vg/pg recommendations, tho.
from what you said, i won't wreck the coil with thinner juice, so i'll try that.
i'll use 50/50 when i can.
this voopoo is as close as i want to come to direct lung.
i'm hoping to someday find a juice that tastes good.
or, at least a juice that tastes like it's supposed to.

Depends on wicking. I go anywhere between 45 and 55. Depends on the Nic carrier liquid. I vape at 1.0 to 1.1 ohms. I'm in the middle of both worlds.

I just said it because I thought it simple and hard to get wrong. After settling in to vaping, then start exploring.

It is a big world compared to cigs. Just get the feet planted first. People always seem to be in a hurry.

Oh. And listen to the Byrds while vaping...yep, the Byrds.

No percents of vg/pg. Nic and flavoring have to get in there, too.

Some people talk VG issues and some have trouble if there is to much PG. Just start with half and half for a bit.

With resistance at one ohm, that is 15-17 watts with a casual draw...that is just me.

Then, if you want a hotter, faster suck it is just raising the wattage 4-5. Cooler and more casual, maybe a touch lower and slower at 9-12.

Just start at a spot and learn, then branch out with some understanding.

I’ve not had any tanks with drop ins leak at 50/50 unless there was something wrong with the tank. I use 75% vg and up in the RTAs. Some of them do best with max vg ( my Fancier collection that I love, but they’re fussy!) but but I’ve got a few top AF that I prefer lower vg.
