I'm really interested in making my own juice. I know the ingredients call for PC and/or VG. I found PG at a local farm supply store is this the same propylene glycol to use for vaping? AND can I use some of the flavoring, as long as it says pure (baking section) in the grocery store?
You can safely use the PG for vaping as long as it is labeled USP, or pharmaceutical grade. Anything else PROBABLY won't hurt you, but will have more impurities, so you can't be sure. Same goes for VG.
Visit our DIY subforum for in-depth information on flavorings and buy from reputable vendors. Grocery shelves are not a good source of flavorings. More information here:
I use a higher blend of pg/vg,70/30. Heavy vg juices give me a heavy lung feeling. You will have to experiment at first til you find what works best for you. Most start at 50/50 and go up or down. You can try the supermarket flavors but most are way too weak for our purposes. I suggest checking out Wizard labs at first since they have small bottles of flavoring til you decide what is best for you. Wizard Labs
Be careful with grocery store flavorings. Make sure they are water or pg based. Do not take oil based flavering.
A little bit of alcohol in it is not bad but certainly no oils and no sugar.
If they have none colored ones, go for those.
As mentioned these grocery store flavors are not the best to use. There are not as concentrated as most vaping flavors.
For a first experiment they will do though but start looking into some real flavors intended for vaping.
