Back in the day, a lot of people modified their cartridges into dripping atomizers by ripping out the polyfill. It eventually morphed into your common 510 atomizer, mostly used for dripping. Someone created the drip tip, a mouthpiece with a wide bore so they could drip three to four drops directly into their atomizer through the drip tip.

The five months that I dripped, I always removed the drip tip, dripped a few drops, then snapped it back into place. I found that every time I tried to drip it through the hole in the drip tip, it always clung to the inside and spit juice back into my mouth.

"Drip tip" is a generic term for any removable mouth piece that snaps onto a tank.

Ok so if I want to "drip tip" (I know this isn't a verb but you get the idea), then I just drop a few drips into the cartomizer instead of filling it up completely?

Hey everyone,

I just ordered a Protank 2. The head is removable, but I thought it came with a drip tip - am I missing something?
How does the drip tip work on this? (Never used a drip tip before...)

Thanks!

Ok so if the drip tip is simply the mouthpiece - what exactly is all the rage I hear about using a drip tip? What's different from normal vaping?

just so we don't confuse;
-the protank is a clearomizer...
-a cartomizer / atomizer you drip INTO...

the drip tips are a phenomenon that people get, to customize their vape machine
like cell phone covers and the like... more of a fashion statement than function

if your using a drip device (not a clearomizer) standard operating procedure (SOP) is to remove tip
then drip proper amount into device, vape, then drip more back into as needed

you don't even need a drip tip, most cartos come with a small rubber stopper
button (aspirin size) that you remove, drip into, and then replace or install a drip tip

the "Drip Tip" just sounds more than it really is
don't read too much into it...

:)

ProTank 2 is a bottom fill clearo meaning that you can only add oil by unscrewing the bottom piece and add oil as directed. In your case, your drip tip is soley used as a mouth piece and cannot be used for dripping oil into that particular tank you are using.

I don't know where this "oil" terminology started, but we don't use oil... it's liquid consisting of propylene glycol and/or glycerin, nicotine (optional) and food flavorings (also optional). There is no "oil" involved.

Not with a protank. You fill the protank from the bottom. Unscrew the base, fill with liquid, avoiding the center post or it will leak all over the place. The tip on this tank is the mouthpiece only.

It can be confusing in the beginning. I love this forum because I can find all the answers I'm looking for. Everyone here is like my coach/teacher/mentor. What's NOT so confusing is once I've filled my tank and vape it.......... yum.

Yes! Exactly how I feel. And I love that no question is ever a dumb question... thank god because I have a lot of questions! :)
