ok folks, listen here
I am using a Kanger protank 2 with an Innokin MPV20 battery.
For a few weeks this combo was working great for me. then yesterday, all of the sudden, I started getting mouthfuls of juice flying into my mouth from the tank.
Obviously I tried making sure everything was tight, juice wasn't overfilled, etc. even tried changing coils about 3 times. also tried lowering wattage of battery to super low. still didn't stop
I have now gone through the process of taking the entire tank apart, washing everything, putting it back together and refilling with fresh juice about 6 times. everytime I do this, the first 5-10 hits are normal before suddenly the spewing of juice into my mouth starts up again. it starts with just a drop, then 3 drops, then 10 drops, then a mouthful, before I start gagging and just want to throw the damn tank into the wall.

why, why why on earth is this happening?!
grrrrrrr!

ps: I also have a protank mini 2 and this does NOT happen at all with the mini on this exact same battery. my mini functions perfectly fine with no problems at all since i've had it. the only thing is that I used to get better hits with the regular protank (before said problem occured) so I would prefer to use it instead of the mini.

Did you disassemble it or loosen and then re-tighten the top and bottom to the glass? If you are able to suck liquid up the mouthpiece that easily the only thing I can think of it one of the glass o-rings is out of place - probably the top one - and it's allowing air to get into the tank - preventing the partial vacuum forming that keeps liquid in the tank.

Inspect the top and bottom the the glass carefully looking to see if one of the o-rings has rolled down the side of the glass. The o-rings need to be seated in the metal top and bottom caps with the glass sitting on top of the o-rings - not between the glass and the caps.

Another possibility is you cracked the glass and didn't realize it yet. You may need to fully disassemble and check for cracks or chips on the edges of the glass. That would also create a vacuum loss problem even if the o-rings are where they should be.

The O rings are perfectly in place and the glass on the tank is flawless...

Ok, then as a diagnostic try this: Take the PT2 off your battery and place your finger directly over the hole in the center post on the bottom. (Not the holes above the 510 threads on the sides.) With your finger in place try and draw - it should be a complete vacuum lock. But if you have any sense that you can pull any air out the drip tip there is still a leak going on some place that shouldn't be there.

wheelie- all the coils i've tried are new/not burnt. i just tried taking one apart, making sure the wicks are in place and perfectly aligned and secure. rubber ring is on tightly. the same cycle just repeated itself: fine vape for first 10 hits, giving me hope, and then before i know it... mouthful of juice.
I also forgot to mention in beginning thread that the juice is also leaking out into the battery connector, a pretty good amount.

*sigh* this is driving me CRAZY. *bangs head into wall*

Here's my 2 cents on your problem. You using a PT2 and along with stock coils, if they are a opaque clearish insulator on the bottom of the head you could have it on a bit tight and with the heat of vaping the center pin of the MVP(assuming its a spring loaded pin) is heating then pushing up and squishing the insulator thus blocking the airflow and you would be sucking up juice. A good solution to the problem is get a kanger airflow adapter and alleviate the stock base. If you have a PT mini around you can swap the bases around and you will know after several hits weather its the insulator being squished using the larger PT base.

A while back there were several threads about this same issue. I think Kanger had (still has?) a QC issue with their coils. The problem is, there is not enough wicking material in them to hold the juice. You might try replacing the flavor wicks with some white cotton yarn (Wal-Mart Peaches and Crème). It will greatly help but may not completely eliminate the problem.

I love my PT2's but only with a rebuilt cotton wicked coil. If rebuilding, or even replacing the flavor wicks, is not your cup of tea, I'd look for a different clearo.

dangaranga - your solution worked the best! I will admit that the juice hasn't completely stopped spewing, but it is definitely happening less and if i suck very very lightly it doesn't happen at all. thanks so much!
and thanks to everyone else for your advice. I tried almost each and every proposed solution. I did order a new tank, so as of tomorrow when it arrives, I was just gonna toss the protank. but hopefully at least now I can keep it as a back-up.
