All of my protected fit inside the protege. But, I find that the unprotected tenergy's provided by PS with the kit seem to last quite a bit longer before they drop off in power. The protected batteries noticeably drop off after about 2 -3 hours, the unprotected tenergy's provide plenty of "normal" power for the whole day (I'm not a heavy vaper).
I use AW IC 14500 protected batteries on my Protege. They outperform all other types I tried in spite of modest mah count. For me it's "whole day" battery.
