So, if I get the Protege with the 510, and I get the USB extension so I can get more voltage, do I really need an 801 adapter? Or will the 510 work fine like that too? I would just rather have 1 atomizer type for everything so I can buy multiple ones...

Also, are we sure it's safe to drip into a 510?

Thanks!

No "need" for an 801 atty. It's just user preference and something different to try. 510 works like a charm at 5 volts. Some people say it's a little too much, but me personally, I like it just fine. The 801 at 5 volts is somewhat comparable to a 510 at 3.7 volts. 510 at 5 volts is much different than 510 at 3.7 volts. More vapour, less flavour just a bit, more throat hit and warmer vapour at 5 volts is all.

Yes, it is perfectly safe to drip into a 510. Many of us do this only and never worry about cart filling.

IMHO, vaping 801 at 5 volts is somewhat comparable to a 510 at 3.7 volts. Vapor production is about the same, but the taste of 510 at 3.7 volts is not as much as 801 at 5 volts.

Steve's "perfect" setup as stated in this forum is 510 at 3.7 volts and 801 at 5 volts. I totally agree with him.

totally lost me there.

i think 801 at 5v is like sucking air. i get no flavor, and no kick.

i think 510 and 901 "was" fine at 3.7v and have decent kick and low flavor, but a 510 and 901 at 5v gives GREAT flavor and GREAT kick.

it's all conjecture. not one person is right or wrong, and you shouldn't JUST take the advice of others on what is best for you. unfortunately, you're likely going to have to spend money on each type of setup (for whatever device you choose) and see which is best for YOU.

my preference? 510 for my Protege, and 510 or 901 for my Prodigy. 901 gives me a slightly richer flavor than the 510 does when used at 5v.

you can drip in any atomizer. the danger in dripping is making sure you're using a sealed battery device, and Protege is sealed, as is Prodigy, so you can drip on whatever configuration you choose.
