My mistake it wasn't the center post that I was pushing it was the entire assembly that came out. See picture. Please help! Steve can tell ya from talking to me on the phone that I was babying the hammering too :( But as you can see the Delrin is totally smashed and ineffective as well.

I don't think hammering is a good solution. Thanks for making the longer posts so we don't have to try this hit or miss fix.

Back to my V1 until this fixed.

hey MG -- Looks like it is a bit too smooshed :) I remember, the Prodigy V1, when we didn't realize what sliced Delrin would do (ie: Short the unit) We must have replaced and fixed 500 or so adapters ... You live and your learn :(

Anyways !!! MG - Email Casey - New Adapter will be in the mail tomorrow bud!

Haha ya it's definitely a learning process. I don't mind being flexible, it's just that initial panic reaction. It's so sexy yet it doesn't work ;) hard to stomach.

I filed a ticket with Casey this morning due to inconsistency with the adapter after I heard you guys fixed by elongating the post so it'll just work. Then later it totally broke. The tell-tell sign was the spinning atomizer that never tightened.

Thanks for the call to try to resolve it without a replacement though. It sounded like it'd work just fine, but ya in practice it's a dice roll. The Delrin didn't hold up to the continual "adjustments" with the hammer and just started to break down till as you said. Shorted.

Yup -- Delrin can only take so much. Normally it should need to be adjusted more than once, but then again, when you press fit a center post in a piece of delrin in to another piece of brass that is supposed to expand within stainless steel - anything is possible :)

did the pants pocket get a bit hot from the short ?!?!?!

Fortunately not :) I was trying to debug the spinning atomizer that I initially suspected was destroyed due to over torquing -- but I've yet to do that with an atomizer. It wasn't until I unscrewed the adapter that the center post moved... So I thought when I get home I'll hammer it down a little more... that was the Delrin killer. Once the Delrin smooshed, I thought I hit it too far, so I flipped it, found something small enough to tap it the other direction... One tap later, the entire core fell out and it was game over.

lol ... Yup ... That center post is supposed to buldge the outter brass to stay within the stainless. The old aluminum adapters, we would simply press fit (center adapter didn't play much of a role) The problem is, stainless is harder than aluminum, so press fitting the way we used to really doesn't work anymore. We have been using this new way since the release of the Protege. Center post comes out - nothing to hold it in place anymore :)

LOL before you posted I was just thinking "Why is my V1 adapter so much more reliable than the V2 adapter?" and I thought, I bet it's due to it being Stainless Steel :) Sounds like I'm getting it. The SS sure is beautiful though - cannot wait to get it back up and running so I can Brasso all the pieces and finally do the V2 video review.

I got the Brass T-Tips from Super T Manufacturing tonight which is what I was waiting for in order to do the review (see other thread about wanting more V2 reviews) -- then the core fell out. Oops.. guess that's on hold. ;)

haha !!! I have one of Davids (Super T Man) Brass T-Tips -- Actually I have (2). 1 for the 801 and 1 for the 510 ... I LOVE THEM! Waiting until he makes them in Stainless !!!! Those will be absolutely amazing!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyways!!! Yup, you learned the differences -- Although on accident -- Ya learn a new thing every day :) If we were to press fir the brass in there, the Stainless would tear it up trying to get it in there :) Could it be done? Sure -- But, for cosmetic sake, we now do it this way :)

Is he making them in SS?! OMG I may have to order more when those come out! :) I wanted to finally be rid of carts and drip full time. Tired of the mess, accidently scorching the fiberfill, wasting juice, etc etc. The juice is SOOO much cleaner and tastier now. I'd recommend these tips to anyone already dripping or considering dripping - worth every penny!

The only way Steve could possibly ensure that everyones unit works with out a single failure point is to literally test it with your atty screwed on it before it ships, and frankly, ewww.

Not only "ewww" but he'd pass out from all the nic. LOL
"200 orders going out tonight Steve! Start vaping"

I like vaping but if I had to, I don't think it'd be as much fun

Hey guys,

Can you tell me more about these tips and what is so great about them? I only drip at this point. Is it strictly a cosmetic thing? Thanx

It's both cosmetic and functional. The hole in the center is large enough for you to drip through it. No need to remove for fillup. I use the 510/901 on the cartomizers. Makes it easier to refill without dinking around with the little white plastic caps.

He's doing some in stainless and aluminum in the next couple of weeks.

Now that is imaginative! Thanks - I'll bear that one in mind!

Oh I understand it (afterall I am an engineer!) I just am hoping when it arives I can use it without issues!
Yeah, if you are a fixer by trade its a lot easier to figure things like this out. I am on like my 8th device from Steve, and have had a few issues, but nothing that i couldn't figure out. I am a Test Engineer by trade, so figuring problems out is what i do.
