Hi everyone!

I've been a Janty Stick user for about 4 months and I have to be honest, I thhink the USB connection is great, the rechargable batteries are great, but the vapor production, the dripping, the liquid getting in my mouth, the plastic construction, etc. I am ready to step up.

I have been reading and watching videos about both the Prodigy V2 and the Protege, and both of them look very attractive to me. I do have a couple of questions:

1) Compared to my Janty Stick, will the Protege, in terms of vapor, feel similar or will I get more vapor?

2) Compared to the Protege, will the Prodigy V2 produce MORE vapor, enough to make an actual noticeable difference?

I like the looks of the Protege, but I need something with great battery life and lots of vapor production, but I could do the Protege if it's a BIG step up (in terms of vapor and battery life) from the Janty Stick.

Please help me out as I would like to make an order very soon.

Thanks!!

Here's my take on the V1 Prodigy with a 510 adapter. This might help:

At 5v, the Prodigy makes the 510 work at optimal levels every time you hit it. With stock batteries it's kind of hit and miss. Some drags are good, some are a little wispy. But with the Prodigy every drag is thick and satisfying... as long as you keep the atomizer wet. It's like getting the best possible drag off a 510 each and every time. Yes, you'll feel like it produces more vapor and you'll get hotter, more "smoke like" vapor out of it. You'll also get a much stronger throat hit. If I were you, I'd go with the V2 Prodigy.

The Protege is IMO the best 3.7 device I've used. I leave the house in the morning with 1 extra batt in my pocket and rarely ever have to use it. I probably get about 5-6 hours of heavy vaping from each 14500 batt. I like the fact that it's stainless steel rather than aluminum. It is very compact and hits great!
That being said, if you try a HV device you may never go back to 3.7v. The Prodigy uses 2 750 mAh CR123a's which will last about 3-4 hours of heavy vaping. You need to decide what is more important to you. Size and very long batt life or awesome vapor and TH and long batt life.
For me, as much as I love the Protege, I'd go Prodigy and never look back at 3.7v.

I have two of each and a V2 on order, as much as I love the Prodigy at home the Protege is my carry weapon of choice. I was using the 510's and have recently gone over to the cartomizer due to the all day vape with no refill performance I get from them.

So for me, it's the HV's at the house or when I'm settled and the Protege when I'm on the move. Cartomizers on both.

Hi everyone!

I've been a Janty Stick user for about 4 months and I have to be honest, I thhink the USB connection is great, the rechargable batteries are great, but the vapor production, the dripping, the liquid getting in my mouth, the plastic construction, etc. I am ready to step up.

I used the Janty Stick for a couple of months, even had two of them and loved 'em. Then tried the higher voltage of a Prodigy and the Silver Bullet. Major major difference! Jantys are now in a drawer.

I have been reading and watching videos about both the Prodigy V2 and the Protege, and both of them look very attractive to me. I do have a couple of questions:

1) Compared to my Janty Stick, will the Protege, in terms of vapor, feel similar or will I get more vapor?

Didn't buy a Protege just because it was 3.7 and didn't want to go back.

2) Compared to the Protege, will the Prodigy V2 produce MORE vapor, enough to make an actual noticeable difference?

See above.

I like the looks of the Protege, but I need something with great battery life and lots of vapor production, but I could do the Protege if it's a BIG step up (in terms of vapor and battery life) from the Janty Stick.

IMO the Prodigy V2 is the step up. The 5volts is the 'Sweet Spot'. I use a 801 because I prefer to drip and the 801 doesn't get as hot around my lips as the 510. The hassel with carts is not worth it to me. Three drips and I'm golden.

That being said, a big part of the joy of vap'n, for me, is the experi-mentation and the thrill of the hunt for the device and configurations that work for me. Take your time, take all that is offered to you and filter it according to what you want out of your vap'n experience and jump in. I think it is hard to make a 'bad' mistake when all you are doing is having fun while getting away from the killing effects of analogs.

Good Luck!

Due to the size and positive videos on the protege, I'm sold!!! Looks like the perfect stealth unit to me~

If you liked how the Janty stick performed the first time out of the box and enjoy 3.7 v devices then you'll probably love the protege. I would definitely get the pass-through adaptor for it though while you're at it. You'll enjoy vaping at 5V constantly at home. You'll be set with two devices in one.

I just got my protege the day after christmas and I've found that the 14500 battery that it uses is one of the best batteries I've tried at 3.7 volts. I can tell you for sure that my protege kicks out more vapor on the 14500 3.7v battery then my ScrewDriver does with the 18350 3.7 volt battery on the same atty and same juice. They or both 900mAh rated but I've found that the my protege also puts out consistently fuller vapor throughout the battery's life as compared to my SD.

I don't fully understand why I'm seeing these differences but I can tell you this. Since I received my protege I've been the most satisfied I've ever been with vaping. I LOVE this device!

I'd also like to take a second to compliment Pure Smoker on their superior customer service. You can't go wrong with PS. I did have a minor problem with my mechanical switch (as a few others have) but the second I informed them I was sent a replacement part that should take care of it no questions asked. You got to love that!

I love my Protege, however, I love my Prodigy 1 more. 5v is the absolute sweet spot!!! TH, vapor and flavor are consistently there :)

Once you go to 5v you become very spoiled.... it really is hard to go back to 3.7v.

The Prodigy V2 is smaller than V1. Looks like it is going to be very nice!

I can't wait to get mine.

Either way you will be happy. ;)

You're silently talking me into trying cartomizers  When the funds build back up I guess I'll have to give them a go!

I agree..

All atys have their good points.

I use them all often, but always seem to reach for my cartomizers..lol

No juice in the mouth. Vape forever it sems like between fills and very little juice on the fingers. Just easier all the way around.

I still use all the different attys, but find myself always leaving home with the cartos in my devices..

I put off trying carts because I had so many (still do) 510's, a few 801's and 901's but 20 minutes after my first set of blanks showed up I haven't been back :)

I fill / refill using the centrifugal method .. 8-o
I took a small bottle that the carts would fit into, drilled a hole in the top of the cap, attached a string 8" long, drop 7 or 8 drops into the cart, drop it into the spinner and giver a whirl, repeat. I can get roughly 28 - 30 drops into an empty cart and 25 or so into a refill. I can vape all day (even on the weekend) on a single cart. I think the flavors are a lot better also. I didn't like the flat tip on the carts so I use a 901 whistle tip or one of the Super T brass (510/901) custom tips.
It/they produce(s) tons of vapor @ 3.7 on the Prodigy or the Protege's and at 5v (with the USB adapter) they really come to life.

Just ordered a V2 (with the GrimmGreen design/don't even get me started) to try them on a portable 5v device.

As cheap as they are (Blanks) you should give them a try. If it's something you dont prefer you can send me the rest of the empties

Steve is suppose to be getting some blanks in on the next shipment.

For me (and vaping is a personal preference thing much like whiskey) carts are the ticket

Gonna have to get the adapter for the cartomizers. Any reason a standard 510 to 808/901 thread adapter wont work? Or is the PS v2 adapter the only one you can use?
21.99 seems high when litecig has them for 7.95. Help!?!

you have to have the pure 510 adapter to start with but can then use the 510>808 adapter. it will work fine. one adapter comes with the unit free.
