OK guys, I think we must accept the fact that somebody is more interested in having a low/cool number than in Proteus in itself.

What I am thinking right now is that engraver will be totally confused Stan!

Easy we can automate the generation of 2000 unique numbers of 4 digits each. Each digit is from the Greek alphabet. You will give him the list and he will engrave. But i can see that he would charge you double lol.

its not the cost but what I am afraid of is that he will make double serials. A mistake on letters will drive to 2 same esterigons out there
I know nothing of the Greek alphabet-what does TMF look like in Greek?

This is simply solved! If there is a double both owners need to meet and the engraver pays the bill

I think All not standard engraving if they can be done should be made as optional,
For personal order.
There will be 2000 or much more of clients for proteus and the same for Esterigon.
we can't collect all opinions here,and some may disagree.
So if it will be offer Better to do so by choose and not generally IMO.

Unsure to understand, i read the thread lately.
I finally decided to create an account on ecf only for the proteus list, to be sure to finally have one, tired with the early 2013 caravela list and other meaningless stress and wait or repetitive unavailability.
In the other hand i can perfectly understand somes, who follow the proteus since 2 years, a low number bears a meaningfull and significant value of its own that may fly away when the mod fan, who a month ago didn't know what an acr is, will nervously 'win' proteus #10 ... Or the specific number of its own penelope v2. So back to the first meaning : the important is to stresfully get one, no matter the number (keeping in mind my penelopes # 20, 204 and 1202
For me its nearly the same end with esterigon, while the production does not allow everybody to get one (?) the open question of decorative engraving is , now, adding more frustration at first, the priority is to locate the release date and be prepared
I deeply vote for greek serial engravings, or sentence in greek giving birth to the mod, its one of the first reaction/wish i always had in mind when the GG mod were first released with english words, wich remains a bit curious for me. A choice of the maker, guided by the style he wants to inprint to its creations.
The name or personal engravings should be made, from my point of view, later by a real hand-engraver choosen by each owner, in a 'personalization' and highly personal quest for his own mod.

there is one more solution for esterigon. No serials
We started the serials before 4 years. Noone had serials on their mods until we started this procedure and then others followed. Maybe now we can make a GG mod that will not have any serials so all people will have the same priority

(the funny of the situation : i feel lucky to be actualy on a nearly 2 years waiting-list of a specific french fine hand-engraver for my 18650 jGG tube ...)

At the same time, we can't ignore people who waited patiently for 2 years with a specific number. I also recognize some of collectors deserve to have specific number.
Possible solution is, use the block of serial number 1 - 2000 for people who wants specific numbers. Use 2001 - 3000+ for random number customers. As long as total count comes out to 2000, this would allow for faster manufacturing of random number mods while continuing to support assigned number request.

we are only talking about esterigon zero. Proteus will have serial because list is already made
+ 1 on no serials , and equality for every user
but i would be a easy way for cloners to clone your mod- exept they never will do as precisioned and highly polished as you and your way of making GG´s
I start from the end: sorry Imeo, but I really don't like the idea of no serial at all for Esterigon; IMHO every GG should have its own serial making every unit unique.

Anyway, I really hope Proteus list was the first and the LAST, and from now on Imeo will resume the "no reserved serials" policy, like it was for Ithaka, P2 and J-GG.
About custom engravings, I'd never put on one of my GGs an engraving made by a third party; just my opinion, anyway I'd want an engraving made with the same fonts, depth of engravings etc.
I'd really like if it could be possible to pay a reasonable surcharge (and maybe wait few more days for the shipping) for having your name/nick engraved after "to My Friend", but I understand perfectly this require extra organization and I will not complain if Imeo say "sorry I cannot".
