Told you all you would not be disappointed. Been running mine for a while now and it has become my go to machine. This is from someone who owns a ProVari and a VV Reo. Fixed the gap problem I mentioned at the beginning of this thread with a nylon washer. The ohm reading changing by one tenth of an ohm every now and then is a weird thing it does. Have come to the conclusion that as a end user that is not incorporating it into a faster than light warp engine it really does not make a hill of beans difference if it changes or not. One tenth of an ohm is not going to affect much. Thinking about buying another in silver with a clip and flush connector.

I told my significant other I wanted either a VaporShark dna, or a Reo Grand for christmas, but that I wanted her to pick which one.

Either way I am gonna be psyched, some parts of me want the reo, some parts of me want a stealth dna.

And regardless of which one I get, I have decided a second XPV will be added to the stable for sure, just gonna wait till tax season for that one :)

and I will probably get it in the same color as my existing one, just so I can sneak it in without having to explain spending another $190 for something I already have :)

A DNA Reo with USB charging would be my dream machine I think.

There are some posts of a few one off DNA Reo's around but it's not something that the average person would do at the kitchen table. Have not seen one with USB charging but I am sure someone has built one.

XPV and Hyper Tank with a ball and socket drip tip. My usual setup.

Coils can fluctuate in resistance depending on heat / juice saturarion / age, lots of stuff.

Part of what makes the dna so good is that it is constantly watching the ohms many times a sec while firing, so as the coil heats up in a hit, and the resistance changes during that heat change, the dna adjusts to maintain same smooth desired hit.

I theorize that the DNA is much more accurate in getting an ohm reading then most devices, which is why you see it fluctuate a bit, because it is rounding to a finer degree then most devices.

Since I use a Hyper Tank most of the time I really have not set the thing free (cranked the power). I run cotton wicks which if you have ever tried cotton you know how they are touchy about burning. Never really have taken the thing off 7 watts. Don't need to. It makes nice clouds at that setting. After Christmas I plan on getting a AGA T2 and making a monster dual coil/wick setup and let loose the electrons. See what it will do with the gas pedal down.

Hey folks.. I have a Proto Vapor XPS in silver with grey trim, pocket clip, dark grey metallic clicky click button, and with the flat 510 connector on it's way to me. It shipped out on Wednesday, so it will hopefully be here by Monday. I kind of wanted a grey one with black trim, but they had the silver w/grey ready to ship, and I wanted it here by Christmas. Since a custom ordered one would have taken an extra two days, I opted for the silver since it is a Christmas gift from my girlfriend. I don't really care what it looks like as long as it performs well, and judging from the love that it is getting here, it will perform like a champ.

I have been a dedicated Darwin user since I got into vaping about a year or so ago. I fell off the vapor wagon last winter, but started back up a couple of weeks ago. It was a pleasant surprise to see the DNA20 chip on the market. I believe that Evolv are at the top of the e-cig game with their technology.

I mostly enjoy dripping with my Darwin using the iKenvape io6 attys, but I just received three new ones, and they all taste like garbage. I'm going to need to get into a good rebuildable atomizer tank, or a good rebuildable dripping system. I only have a little experience with the Zenesis rebuildables, and while very nice, they're just not my thing (to fussy/not consistent with the flavor). I guess I'm just not a fan of the style of coil on the Zenesis (I might have to give it a try again). I'm having bad luck with the non rebuildables at the moment, so any suggestions on a good rebuildable tank or dripping system to use with the XPV would be greatly appreciated. Like I said, the best vape I've experienced was with my Darwin and the io6's.

@burnside, I have had really good luck with the Phoenix v5 RDA. It is cheap ( around $20 ) well built, dual coil capable, twin o-ring sealing and to me a very important thing.....a deep drip pan. I have two of them and a Phoenix v6 which I don't like the air control so much.

A v5 is sitting atop both of my DNA mods.

Well it is on a dual coil, so each coil is about 3 ohms, therefor at 20 watts, each coil is getting 10 watts, assuming they are the same ohm load.

So it tastes like a single coil at 10 watts, but produces twice the vapor, so it may have a little more flavor, but I wouldn't really say so.

It just sounded like st elmos fire in your mouth... lol.

Personally, for a tank... I would recommend a Kayfun / Russian 91% or their equivalent... Easy build, consistent and with cotton in a microcoil hard to beat for the flavor... And to change flavors just remove the cotton, dryburn and replace the cotton in the coil and refill with the flavor of your choice... I, like you, left vaping, came back and can now breathe so much easier... Sometimes one needs to get to a certain point before success is acheived... try the Good Life vapor Deadly Sin if you like tobacco vapes with a little sweetness...

Thanks for the suggestions, fellas! I'm definitely looking into the Kayfun Lite and the Russian 91% and their clone equivalents. I'll also check out the Phoenix v5 RDA. Another one I was considering is the Nimbus RDA.

I just found out that I can pick up either a Pro Tank2, Evod Tank, or the Vivi Nova tank locally (although over priced I'm sure). I think I'm going to have to try out one of these in order to keep myself occupied until I order something a little more capable. Any suggestions on which one of these I should go for? The cartos and attys that I'm using right now are garbage so I feel that it would be in my best interest to pick up one of the tanks I just mentioned (even if a little bit overpriced at about 10 dollars more than the online prices).

I have all three of those clearos, and would suggest the Protank 2 as the top pick. Both the Protank and the Evod use the same coils and the vape is pretty much the same, but the glass tank on the Protank is a great feature, plus it’s easier to clean and has a larger capacity. The removable drip tip on the Protank 2 is also a big plus for me.

Both are simple and fiddle-free to use (other than having to remove a flavor wick or two if you vape thicker juices).

The coils on the Protank/Evod are also very easy to rebuild. But, if you don’t want to bother with that, replacements are cheap at about a buck or so per.

I never cared much for the Vivi Nova. Used them for a while, but the top coil design never worked well for me since I usually vape thicker juices. It got better when I rebuilt the stock coil with multiple thinner wicks, but still well below the performance of a Protank/Evod.

As a side note, I’m just amazed at how much better a Protank/Evod vapes on a DNA 20 device. I haven’t been using them much since I started on rebuildables, but tried one out on the XPV just to see how it works. Very satisfying vape. Even my Kanger T3's impressed me on the XPV.

I will second hazozita's Protank2 recommendation... That would be a good choice. I even have one with BWB's Malty Toffee in it; a 100% vg juice and they still vapes very well...
