The State of Confusion
I am starting this thread for users who own or want to own the ZAP for the Provari.

Here we should share ideas for building, use, etc.

I personally have 3 and believe it or not in the year plus I have owned them I have not had to rebuild one yet!

Now let me qualify this: I only use my ZAP rba' at home, if I travel I take one, but only use it in the hotel...

I prefer ceramic wicks, but they are very fragile and I have seen discussion that other wick materials work better in the ZAP'.

Likewise some like the Kanthal ribbon with ceramic wicks as they are easier to build / wrap with the ribbon and take less winds to yield the same resistance.

Chime on in and share your thoughts, ideas, etc.

I realize there is a Sticky Thread about the ZAP' here in the Provape forum, but most of us pass these up and hey time for some new input!

There is a sticky thread already ^^^ up there.

Ah. I see you know that already.

Carry on.

Yeah I know, but unfortunately it seems no one reads them or adds to them...

I figured I would give it an all American try to get some interest stirred up....

The ZAP' although expensive are a great RBA, and there are a few tricks people have learned that would be great to share...

Funny, I haven't seen any ZAP clones yet....hope we never do either!

I almost bought one, but read if you look at the ceramic wicks the wrong way, they break. And I read about the leaks...

Many do not know that you can use any wick material in the ZAP'.
(Only the Provari versions come pre-wicked and ready to go with a ceramic wick).

I have used Ekowool and steel cable; works pretty slick!

True the ceramic is very delicate and takes some patience when winding, but I have yet to replace one!

As far as leaks, I have three ZAP' and not one leaks?

What kind of leaks have you heard of?
(Where)?

I read the reviews on the ProVape site, over a year ago, when I bought my first ProVari, as I was going to get a ZAP along with it. Maybe I'll look into it a bit more and pick one up next order. I remember one saying they don't transport well and leak when not kept upright. I want something that can survive rolling around in the car and tossed into a day bag.

Well in that respect , yes they have the fill hole on the top under the cover, and yes if not kept upright will leak, so I guess that is a concern...

I really don't mind because of their superior design and ruggedness otherwise.

If there are any "flaws" in the design that would be it. One could always cover the hole perhaps? Never tried that....

For my daily tanks I use a Kanger Aero Mega Dual coil, very durable and takes rolling around really well!

I travel with the ZAP', but if filled they do indeed have to be kept at 45 degrees or better, if the fill / vent hole is left open.

Personally I do not use any of my RBA', RDA' as my "work" attys, I use Kanger tanks and keep the good stuff for when I am at home, or after work.

I mean I carry my Provari and ZAP in my shirt pocket, place it in my cup holder while driving, etc.

I think I need to get one of those pv cup holder devices ProVape sells. During spirited driving, ProVari end up flying all over the car...

They're pretty kewl!

Not to mention they also keep your Provari' safe during those Road Rage incidents as well!

Hmm.. Ive had few Zap's, Zau's and they all leak, I've broken quarts tanks, slid the tank off, and the top cap comes off too easily... Not the mention the the limitation on the provari with low ohms and the error codes associated with using ss mesh/other conductive wicks..
Not sure what the hypes all about.. Ive had agat's perform better for 20 bucks.. But carry on I guess..

No hype, just looking for input from ZAP users.

I haven't had any of the leaking issues unless I tip it over 45 degrees...

I never tried any wicks except the ceramic in the ZAP' so I guess that's a possible issue with other wicks, and being a vertical RBA it does have some limitations.
