So I've just recoiled a kanger head and I put it on my Protank 2 and when its screwed all the way down I cannot get a draw. All airflow is gone. So I put my previous kanger head back on and screwed it down and its fine.
I could not see any difference between the 2. What gives? I'm using the same base. Tested it on another one and its fine also. Perhaps I had a mix of non authhentic ones mixed in my bag? Works fine on my Dbox Puritank but with a slightly stiffer draw.

Are the two atomizers the exact same dimensions? Same cut in the center post? Did you push the stem all the way back down? Is the silicone grommet on all the way? Are the wicks stuffed too tight? I mean, you're pulling air through the wicks, so if they are stuffed too tight, it will block air flow...

Does it have a tight draw when you take the ProTank off the ProVari? Tighter than with the other atomizer in place?

If I had to guess, I would say you have the wicks stuffed in too tight... If that's not the issue, it shouldn't be too difficult to pinpoint with some experimenting...

Thanks Zombie! That was it. I was banging my head trying to figure this out for weeks now. I thought it was the position of the 2 small air holes above the 510 threads on the base until it happened to "my good protank". You rock! Thanks again.
Thanks for troubleshooting with me dam718.

yeah good info zombie.
anyway i'm using stock heads on mine and if i screw it all the way down it cuts off the air flow as well so i just loosen it slightly.
doesn't wiggle or anything.

Thanks, Yeah I was a noob (still am a noob) when I wrote that, Had the issue on day one with my Protank II.

I had only been vaping a week, Put the tank on to prime the new head and nothing. 0 draw, unscrewed the head put a different head in and all was fine... had a "Hmmmm" moment.

So I pulled the good head out and just looked at them both, didn't see a difference, Lucky for me I had ordered a Protank 1 along with the Protank II, Took both bases with a head in them and then it became obvious, So I shaved it...

Then went looking to see if anyone else had this issue, Lots did so I made that thread, Even seen a Phil Busardo video where he had the same thing, Mine all wiggle like a bobble head if I loosen them, lol

ECF had helped me so much before I even started vaping, I just wanted to give back, Just wish more people would post some positive comments on that thread, It got alot of negative attention at first and has kinda got lost in the shuffle now.

Hey flybykite, Wanted to ask if you tried building a nano coil in the Protank yet?

I tried a micro and was just curious how hot a nano gets.
Yep, thats all I use on the Protank now. At first I started with .8 ohms nano with 28g kanthal on a 18 ga needle 11 wraps and it hits very nice but I've discovered that I like dual coils in the protank even more with 32g Kanthal using the same build. Heres a post I put up recently.http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...al-micro-coils-tripple-coils-protank-2-a.html I wont go back to stock heads now. This is awesome! Only drawback is that if you vape with too much voltage, you will burn the cotton wick in halfs and it wont wick well anymore.
Next I will try to raise the coils a bit and put cotton below the coils as well as on top plus the wicks. That might get me vaping a slightly higher voltage without drying out the wicks.

Neither build gets hot unless you chain vape 20 pulls. Make sure you use a flavor wick on top. I've only done this with cotton so far.
Just to clarify the title says "Micro coil" but in fact when used on a 18 or 20g needle its a Nano
