This may be a dumb question, but better safe than sorry when it comes to my PVs. I was wondering if you guys think it would be safe to check the battery level on my REO's AW 18650 with my provari mini just by holding it in place with the extension cap (since an 18650 obviously won't allow me to screw on the cap).

If you own an APV you need a multimeter. No way around that...

I just tried this in my Provari mini and couldn't get a reading. I agree that you really need a multimeter or one of these for checking voltage.
There are similar devices for checking resistance if you aren't multimeter savvy. They are available at several vendors.
