Provari body design?

So I've eaten the red pill... Lol
Sold lock stock and barrel on a provari and may be trying to order one tomorrow; but, because I'm both impatient and tight on cash I'm looking to see if I can find one on the "pre-owned" market. (Pre-owned sounds better than used out loud)
I've noticed some differences in body design
Appears the new ones have the wavy engravings on the body and the minis have teardrops? I've seen some with what looks like straight chines down the side?
Anyone know which is which?
Are the chines indicative of clones?

ProVari change the design on the V2.5. It has the circles. The previous versions had the vertical lines on the side

Additional info. If you get a previous version ProVari which is below v2.5, it can be upgraded by Provape for a nominal fee. IIFC the main difference in the versions has to do with the amp rating of the switch.

V3? Nothing about a V3 on provapes website. I spoke to provape yesterday to see if they had any plans to put out a V3 or a model with VW as well as VV and the person I spoke to said no.

Seriously though is there any advantage to using the 18650 batteries instead of the 18490's other than the mah of the battery? Really don't want to use the extension cap if I don't have to carry around the extra length.

I just bought a 'used' Provari on eBay and paid slightly more that new (LOL). I was a red Mini in new condition and I missed out buying one when they were available.

I did see a few going to pretty decent prices that were more seasoned.

You can tell if someone has been around Boats if they use the word "Chines" LOL

The Chines were from the Regular Sized V1.0 and v2.0 Provari.

I helped my neighbor Repair the Ridge Caps on his Roof awhile back. When we were done I told him that it things would look a lot better if he Spray Painted all the Scuppers with some Flat Black Paint.

He just looked at me with that "Did you just Invent a New Word?" Look.

Hahaha! You gotta love that look from some people. Especially when it's a word like that: completely normal part of your vocabulary and yet completely alien to some people.
I have a friend from Kansas and took him fishing -once. When the communication made me realize that he and I spoke two different languages the fun stopped. Lol
Especially when I said "through the anchor off the port stern." To which I got "that look" followed by him throwing off the bow; and the boat flipping around .... Lmao

Have you looked at the Zombie edition? Loved the feel of that in my hand. The coating seems more gripable.

Just so you know. There is no difference in the chip or any function of the provari when comparing 2.0 and 2.5. Only aesthetics.

I got the two-tone green to blue, and it has the same grippy coating. The overlap circles help too.
The paint is not quite textured, and not really sticky. It has a silky feel, yet has good grip.

Provape rarely has coupons or sales. Maybe once a year around Christmas/New Year. They do occasionally have blemished or clearance ones if you want to wait. Sometimes you can catch a deal in the classies too.

I saw someone had taken a grip for a dirtbike and trimmed the edges but it fit the Provari kind of like one of those silicon phone cases. Not sure what I think about that; but, it does seam to add a hefty protective layer And a nice grippy texture.
