So last night my Provari started popping out a 23 on the LED screen every time I take a good long hit. I switched my Nautilus tank to my other Provari and got the same code. My other, less favored tanks do not seem to produce this code. Since both Provaris produce the same code, the problem is obviously not with the Provari, but with the tank. The on-line manual doesn't help. Should I change my coil? Its only a few days old. I want to know what the 23 means. Thanks.

Did you verify the coils resistance? I ask because a stock coil may have 1.8 posted but actually be 1.5 or something else tossing you over the limit for the provari.
Breeze, its reading 1.6, but I'm wondering if one of the two coils might have popped. Vape production seems normal--taste isn't too good.

Damn, it is E2--I was reading it upside down! So why do you think this would start popping up. I haven't changed my voltage--which is 4.8 on a 1.8 coil. Thanks Vermonster..

That's going to be a bit much in my experience with the Nautilus and the Provari, Moedog. Back it down to 4.2 or even 4.0 volts. That's where I got the best performance. Remember that your Provari, unlike other devices, is providing a a cleaner, truer voltage. So what you see on your LED really is what it's pushing to that coil. And all coils can read off by +/- 0.2 ohm.

"E2 Error Code – Current Limit Exceeded – If this error appears, lower the voltage on the device or use a higher resistance atomizer. Once the problem has been fixed, the ProVari will reset itself." http://www.provape.com/v/images/ProVariManual.pdf

1.6 ohm @ 4.8 volts works out to 3 amps and 14.8 watts, which is in the grey area of what the Provari can do.

If I'm not mistaken, the Provari has a 14.9 watt limit, and 3.5 amp limit.

Provape recommends using higher ohm coils on the Provari. I recommend 2.5 - 3.0 ohms if available. You'll get a wider range of voltages to use on the Provari, use less battery amperage in the process, and get the vaping experience you're seeking.

The below Safe Vaping Power Chart is a little outdated, but can still be used as a general guideline for choosing the best resistance to use at a particular voltage range.

Big Daddy, I dialed back my voltage to 4.1 and no longer get E2. To be honest, I'm not completely satisfied with my vape at that level. I've been using 4.8 ever since I've had my Nautilus--three or four months. I'm wondering why E2 would show up now.

My recommendation is based on my experience with the same setup Moedog. You can try going with the higher resistance coils but even then you are still not going to get much better than around 11 watts give or take. And even that was pushing it for me before I'd get dry hits or burned hits. This is why some of us have mechanicals or high wattage regulated devices and rebuildable atomizers. So that we can push beyond that limitation.

Bad, previous to getting my Nautilus, I used 2.4 coils on my Provari's and I was a little skeptical of the Nautlus for that reason. I saw somewhere that 2.1 coils are now available for the Nautilus so I may try them. In the meantime, I'm at 4.4 volts with no problem. Thanks.

Wattage of 4.8 Volts on a 1.8 ohm coil is approximately 12.8 watts. The same 4.8 volts on a 2.4 ohm coil comes out to only 9.6 watts. So like I said, back it down to about 4.2 volts, which on your Nautilus 1.8 ohm coil comes out to 9.8 watts, and you should be fine. If you aren't satisfied with the vape at that, then I can't help you. Everyone has different preference and it sounds like yours isn't the Nautilus.
