I have started using an Aerotank 2 with my mini Provari and keep getting error codes....usually E1 or E8. I'm usually on 4.2-4.6 volts. Shows 1.8 ohm. I also have the original Aerotank showing 2.1ohm and have not been getting error codes with it and the hit is much better. Do I need the higher resistance wick/coil with my Aerotank 2? Please excuse my terminology if it's wrong!

Well...I'd be curious to know if lowering the voltage helps in this case. I not an expert either and I've never had an Aero tank, but 1.8 ohms at 4.2 volts is 9.8 watts, which is well below the limit.

E1 – Short Circuit / Shorted Atomizer – If this error appears, remove the atomizer and replace with a different one or lower your voltage settings. The ProVari will automatically reset when the problem is fixed.

E1 means shorted coil
E8 means error detected in converter. You can still get this one on a partly shorted coil and it doesn't sound like you have problems on your other tank.

I agree with the idea that you got a faulty coil; Clean all your threads and try another coil.

Error codes are on the last page.

I agree. It's going to take some hands on readings to determine what's going on. Get out the meter and post some results on the tank that is causing problems. There's a 3.5A limit on the Provari V2. If you are reading 1.8 ohms on the one that doesn't work and another does work, there would have to be some little stray wire creating a phantom ground path that's confusing the electronics.
