So I picked up a v1 Provari off the classies, sent it in to Provape for an upgrade, an got it in the mail a couple days ago. I hadn't checked the battery level or the resistance much until today but I don't remember it doing this. Basically after it displays Cb or Ao it fires immediately when the numbers appear and until they go off. It doesn't do it when changing voltage or any other part of the menu. This can't be normal right?

Oh even more careful ... the Vari will not reset down to lower voltage: say you were using a HV atomizer at 5.5v and you change to a LR 1.5, press fire and pop your coil.

Hasn't happened to me yet but wouldn't the ProV error out at that point? Sometimes those often-maligned protections are nice to have. :)

Yep.... at that extreme it might E1 out or some code... but If you are say closer within a range that the 3.5 (V2 amp limiter for LR) would not error out, and you have a dry (and expensive) atomizer at 1.5 and your at about say 4.++v, it always freaked me out.

Hear ya. Something to be aware of for sure.
