Come income tax return time my wife and I always splurge a bit on something we each want.

I have decided that my mech mod collection is more than enough for what I need. What I am after now is a good VV. My wife has actually appropriated both of my old VVs, so my current count is... zero. Those VVs were the vamo and zmax, they were ok, but really nothing special. I have no interest in box mods, sadly, as I know there are a bunch of really great ones out there. I just dont like the hand feel of them.

I have been looking at the Provari. I know that people really like theirs, but would like to see you all have any suggestions for mods that are in the same league.

Things like the iTaste SVD are good, but not the leap forward from the zmax that you appear to be looking for.

For the quality, durability, and warranty, the provari is a better choice. I got one before joining this forum and hadn't encountered the legion of devotees, so I wasn't swayed by popular opinion, but I saw (and felt) the difference immediately.

There are going to be some who will rave about "newer" devices (the provari is VV only, not VW, and does not come with ego threading) that do this or that. They may try to convince you to get a DNA 20/30 device, which may have some appeal to you (the Futura would probably be the leading candidate, given your preference for tubes). But if solid (and accurate) performance, classic lines, and dependability makes sense to you, it should be the provari.

I am not at all concerned with the lack of VW, the math is easy if I ever wanted to do it.

As I will be using this almost exclusively with ~1.8 ohm coils:
On the max setting of the provari, 6 volts, it would output 20 watts (6*6/1.8) at 3.3 amps (6/1.8), which is under its maximum allowance of 3.5 amps.

Considering that I normally vape my protanks at 8-10 watts on my mechs, I see no need for a huge wattage allowance on the mod.

If I want high wattage its on my RDAs, where embarrassingly I sometimes find myself vaping at over a hundred watts

I have a lot of mods (mechanical, VV, VW) but I just ordered my 2nd Provari today - that should say something to you. It's a mini this time. Love the regular size one for work as I can use a 18650 to easily last the day. This one is for quick outings where I don't want to carry something big but I'll still have a fully satisfying vape. I have many alternatives but I just feel better having a Provari with me instead of anything else. It will be replacing a Vamo 5/Aerotank combo which I really like too.

Once you get used to a certain vape, there's no need for VW IMHO. I just go by taste and vapor depending on the condition of my coil. Up/down on the voltage, same as my Vamo with the wattage I still do with my Provari. When you get to know your equipment, it just comes to you regardless of VV or VW.

Edit: Same with my mechs. When it's time to change the wick, coil or recharge the batt, you'll know with experience, no need to dumb it down.

It took me nearly a year to be able to purchase a Provari but I was glad when the time came that I could. There was no other device I wanted. I have vv/vw mods and I really like them but the Provari puts out the vape with little fiddling around. It gives a great throat hit no matter the nic mg. I was blown away by it honestly. Good luck in you decision and Happy Vaping! :) :vapor:

Same class as Provari? DNA Mods are up there but might not offer the warranty/repair options of the Provari. There are a couple VV mods up there in class like the Semovar but it's not made in USA and may not be as easy to get repaired.

Once you get the Provari you will have no more patience for the lower class of Vamo/SVD/Zmax/Tesla/LavaTube type devices...

Everyone else in this thread was doing a WONDERFUL job of suggesting a Provari without sounding like a snob, then you come along and ruin it with this sentence. I will say it again, essentially calling everything else junk or as you put it "lower class" it what causes the rift between many people on this forum.

JJOOHHNN, the other day you were asking for examples....look above at ZombieJuice's post.

I see what you mean.

It might not have been the best choice of words. I have not used all of those devices but I would get frustrated at the things people have posted about the threading problems on a Vamo. I know some people have good luck with those.

I thought you were going to point me to a super duper massively wonderful boost regulated cigalike but I understand.

Whoa whoa whoa, I NEVER said any other devices are junk. They are great devices for the price that give you a good vape experience. I was just explaining once you get used to using a higher end device with more attention to build quality and performance, going back to using devices like the Vamo, ect seems like a step down. Those cheaper devices don't offer anything better and the build quality difference is obvious in your hand.

You seem very offended by my words I can see you at your computer fuming angry with smoke coming out of your ears trying to type and hold your Vamo at the same time. Haha hope you can take a joke, I mean no offense nor am I a snob. I would hope people could talk about their opinions on device quality without getting called out.

LoL I don't get angry...or offended for that matter. I take great pride in my refusal to allow others to control my emotions. However recently there was an argument thread were some people were bashing Provari owners for looking down on other PV's. IMHO the problem is probably just some poorly chosen words that give the impression of elitism.

Seriously though, if you had just bought a new Honda and I rolled up in a new Mercedes and told you that once you had driven a Mercedes you wouldn't put up with something lower class like a Honda, how would you feel about me?

Oh and for the record I use an SVD and have never had a single problem. :vapor: :toast:

If you are looking for a quality VV device that will last you a long time, then the ProVari can't be beat.

I own two MVP 2's because VW IS important to me. I don't wish to adjust my device between every atty swap. And the Provari's one button UI makes even THAT more cumbersome than it needs to be. I vape at 7.0 watts and rarely adjust my device. I also enjoy the fact that the MVP has a built in charger so I can charge anywhere there is a USB port. The vape quality is on the level of the ProVari.

That being said. I recognize the MVP is a disposable piece so it's not for everyone.

Based on what you have said, I think you will be happy with the ProVari. It is a quality vape. It will last you a very long time.

I have two Provaris. Quite happy with them. I also drive Fords. I understand that there are people that like Chryslers and Lexuses? Everyone has opinions, I'll leave out the anatomical reference about 'stink'. Read up on the forums for what ever device you are interested in, see what problems people are complaining about and make your choice based on your wallet and over all consensus...
