I own two MVP 2's because VW IS important to me. I don't wish to adjust my device between every atty swap.

you soon may learn that it doesn't always work out that way. depending on the topper and coil build of course, but here goes. i have 1.8Ω coils that vape the same @ 12 watts as some of my 2.0Ω coils do @ 7 watts.

VV and VW are just two ways to get to the same thing... your preferred vape. another way as mech users know, is by the build. this is not just limited to wick and coil, either.

though, this changes nothing in this discussion, really.

Nataani, if you're looking for the best quality out of a variable device, avoid buyers remorse and get the provari.

The thing is that Variable Wattage is more applicable for single coil. Variable wattage devices don't take into account dual coil or quad coil configurations.

So 7.0 watts on a Mini PT 2 is vastly different than 7.0 watts on an iClear 30. The dual coil iClear 30 is actually only firing 3.5 watts per coil. To get the same power at each coil on an iclear 30 I'd need to push 14 watts out total.

This is the reason why more mod manufacturers are pushing high wattage limits on their mods.

Personally I think the new dual coil clearomizers out there are a lot of vape and mirrors. Let's pay more, for a coil that drinks twice as much juice and requires twice the power on your battery to operated at the desired temperature. That sounds like an idea only a battery manufacturer or juice vendor could love.

i can only assume you're posting with pre-conceived notions and without experience.

while i'm sure there are dual coil tanks that use more juice than single coil tanks...

my protank IIs with 1.8Ω single coils are good for a quick blast @ 15 watts or chain vaping between 10 and 12 watts and use juice just as fast as my iclear 16Bs with 2Ω dual coils which happen to burn juice (burnt taste) at about 10 watts.

i set my 16Bs (dual coil) at the same 8 watts i set my carto tanks (single coil) at and get nearly identical performance in flavor, vapor production, juice consumption and power consumption. though, the flavor hits different notes better.

people who build their own wick and coil setups, cloud chasers, hobbyists, etc. ... those are the real reasons mod makers are pushing new limits.

you really have to try what you are speaking about before you form a conclusion.

Ok....whatever.....despite the fact that what you just said flys in the face of ohms law....I'll bow down to your massive 3 months of vaping experience

VV or VW....I can use either one and it doesn't seem to matter really...I accomplish the same. I run it as hot as I can until it starts to burn, then bump it down a notch. The power mode, volts or watts, doesn't matter as they both seem to do the same thing. At least the way I'm using it...I can use either mode....so, the VW feature, or lack of it, is not a factor. I only use my Nautilus on it, so it's not like I'm switching out tanks with various coils and juices, and I only vape Boba's. If I had lots of tanks and juices to switch out, then my personal situation might call for different capabilities.

I'm not happy with my KMax so I'm buying a Provari. I'm not messing around or trying other mods. I'm just gonna buy the Provari and be done with it. I've looked at all the big ones on the market now....so I'm hoping it will be like so many other things in life...just cough up the dough, get the good one and be done with it. I've already got good 18650's and charger...so just need Provari and extension cap.

KMax...Pbusardo pretty much killed that....sounds like you've giving it a big thumbs down. I think you'll love the ProVari....

no need to get upset about it.

heat has nothing to do with ohms law. ohms law only explains the movement of electricity. it doesn't assume that all wires are the same gauge or length. ;)

whether massive or not, i still have experience with dual coils and single coils. right now, for example, i have a new build on my protank ohming out at 2.3Ω going through juice more than twice as fast as my BDCs can at the same wattage. it's just how this build performs.

Man you're so spot on. I wish I'd seen Phil's review of it before I bought it. While it is usable with effort and manipulation....it's so inaccurate and inconsistent, I couldn't in good conscience sell it on. Mine took a tumble from the coffee table to the plush pile carpet and fell apart. I pressed it back together but it's forever loose. The "bronze" finish is rubbing off. It randomly sets itself to absurd levels. I may set it to a certain level, but I have no idea what it's really putting out. 5 weeks of use. Garbage.

The ProVari will seem like night and day.....

Just my opinion...I have 10 mods. Three mechanicals, six VV only, and one VV/VW. I have three Provari's. I prefer the Provari's over all the rest. They get 95% of my attention. I prefer the smoother vape they provide, I prefer the feel they have in my hand, and enjoy their durability (I've been known to drop my mod on things like concrete occassionally). I have a sense of security knowing that should I break one of my Provari's, I can send it in to Provape and have it repaired for as long as I own the mod.

For a compilation of Provari facts and opinions, read my blog on the Provari:

Why Provari?

If I were you, I would save my money and get a nice Kayfun or other quality topper instead of paying top dollar for a mod.

You can't go wrong with a ProVari, but there is sometimes this lore surrounding the ProVari that would make you think that a ProVari (or any US made mod for that matter) is made with Unicorn tears and provide you with a transcendental experience, while anything from china is nothing but crap. This is the furthest from the truth.

Let's not lie. The ProVari is a VERY well built and VERY accurate voltage delivery system. AND China has produced it's fair share of crap (Can you say KSD KMAX???!!!??)

BUT....If you blow your budget on a ProVari and a Kanger Protank2, I can guarantee that you won't get near the quality vape that I am getting with a quality Kayfun Clone on a Sigelei V3 at 1/3 the price.

I am NOT suggesting you do not get a ProVari.

What I am suggesting, is when you upgrade, upgrade equally. Your vape experience is only as strong as your weakest link. I'm not putting a Kayfun on an Ego Twist. I'm not putting an CE4 on a ProVari. If you have the funds to get a ProVari and the necessary other items to really rock that ProVari, then go for it.

However, if you don't have the funds, I think you'll find better options by getting something like a high quality Kayfun clone on a nice middle of the road mod like a Vamo, SID, MVP or Sigelei.

Admittedly not a scientific poll, but the Provari is winning by a landslide in a current poll of "best favorite" mods.

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-best-apv-voted-1-you-please-participate.html

And you are shocked how?!!!!???!!!

Kind of unscientific when the list of choices are:
ProVari
MVP 2.0
Smok Tech Zmax
Smok Tech Sid
Vision Spinners
Mech Mod's
And the All inclusive "Other".

Of all the choices, the ProVari has the greatest brand recognition and the most rabid fan base.

........And it is an extremely well built and accurate mod.....

What I know about the Provari is I bought one when they first came out and waited my month. The first ones had a problem of amperage limitation which they fixed. I sent mine in because I had a problem with the window. They fixed that for free and I spent the $20 to make it a V2. That was 5 or 6 years ago. I still use it every day and works great. I bought a Vamo for emergencies and put a Vamo spring in my Provari cause the original spring was giving out. The Vamo works ok but the threads aren't the best and it rattles. Like I say it works ok but the Provari works like new after this long. Amazing I orginally bought it cause its made near where I live and it is quality all the way. It'll set you back a couple of hundred but you won't need another.
