I've seen quite a few posts where Provari owners use other devices when they go out. You know, the "my 'vari is my baby, I only use it at home and don't want to risk taking it out" posts.

I understand they're not $50 MVP's but we walk out of our homes with expensive cell phones, tablets, laptops, etc. so why won't you take your Provari on the road? Is it just the money or is it inconvenient in some way?

I'm not trying to start a fight. I'm just curious as I do see myself with a Provari mini at some point.

It's a stage we go through.

When we only had one ProVari, we wanted to make sure nothing happened to "our Precious". It's ours....our own...

But when we got a backup or a third......cough...cough... All of the sudden the loss of one of them did not seem that important.

At least for me, I simply got tired of "settling" for my MVP's and I never thought I'd hear my self say that, but it's true.

I think most people who Baby their ProVari's have only one. But there are others out there who only have one that are "living on the edge".

Expensive cell phones, tablets, laptops, etc.? What are these? I have nothing of the sort in my possession...

I didn't take my 1st & only ProVari out of the house until it was like a couple weeks old..

Afraid to drop it & scratch it.. or lose it

I think that's somewhat common at first

Now I take it out wherever & whenever...

The only possible inconvenience I could possibly see is that it is on the heavier side..

But everything else including its size, performance & reliability far outweigh that (no pun intended :D)...

I guarded it with my life, at first. Then I go over it, and realized it could take anything I could throw at it. I have 3 now, and they have survived being dropped on concrete. knocked over on my desk, being held with hands that first handles harsh chemicals. Beyond a couple of scratches here and there, all is well.

I have one with the thought of just using it at home...that didn't last long! I now going to order a mini just to keep in my case cause that way I don't have to put the regular endcap on so it will fit in the case. I have been using 18650 at home and 18490 when I go out so it will fit in my case. By case however will fit a mini and a couple extra batteries perfect.

My first Provari (full-size version 2.0) is about 18 months old. I've carried it with me everywhere because it was the best vaping mod that I had. (My first two mods were mechanicals.) I wasn't afraid to carry it with me out of the house. I'd read how durable it was, and has proven itself to be so many times. I can't count how many times it has fallen from my lap getting out of the car and hitting the driveway pavement; no worries other than for the glass cartotank which was on top (which have yet to crack - thanks IBTanked).

One of those mechanical mods was an AltSmoke BB. It is a small 14500 mod ideal for out-and-about. I began thinking how nice would it be to have a more portable pocket-friendly VV mod the size of the BB.

After some research, I found that the VV mods in the 14500 size had poor performance and battery life. Scratch that idea. I ended up getting a Smoktech VV Gripper, a box mod with a pocket-friendly profile which uses an 18650 battery. Immediately I realized that I didn't care for the 33.3 Hz chip which made a hotter vape than the Provari. After several weeks, its front panel buttons and LED screen fell into the body, rendering it useless. No repair options available as Smoktech is a Chinese company. Not a durable mod, so a poor choice.

Since I did like the form factor of the ST Gripper, next I got a Segelei/Ovale V8, another gripper-style box mod popular at the time. A sturdier built device than the ST Gripper, but it had a funky battery compartment with flimsy springs which made changing the two 18350 batteries a PITA. Plus, it still had that 33.3 Hz chip which made too warm of a vape. I found that I was grabbing the Provari when I left the house instead of the Ovale V8. This was not what I was looking for either...

For my 1 year vape anniversary I decided to award myself with a Mini Provari. This is what I was looking for when I bought the two gripper box mods. A durable, pocket-friendly VV device which still gave me a Provari-type vaping experience. The Mini has become my favorite and most used mod; it accompanies me everywhere and is used at home, too.

I do have some high end mechanicals that took forever to get and are no longer made, so I might not take them to a concert or ballgame...But my Provari? Why buy it if I wont use it on the go? If it was to get lost or damaged I could always replace it.. That's the beauty of a Provari--They can be had at any time directly from Provape....

You're vape journey was more elaborate than mine :) I went from extremely cheap to cheap to crap to better crap to slightly better crap to a Provari.

I am however planning to leave it at home when I go out drinking with friends in fear I will leave it on accident or something along those lines :toast:

I said this too.........at first but never actually left it at home.

I take mine in the car. But I don't vape anything other than in the car, stealth in my office or home. But I only use my one Provari. :)
