Provari problem

Hi, first posting and unfortunately it's about a problem with my brand new Provari.

Quite often the voltage goes to a higher setting all by itself. I have to reset it then, because it won't fire the atomizer. When I push the button it sometimes feels as if the battery or circuit board is moving. I contacted my dealer in Germany and he told me he will send it to the USA for me to have it checked. If it's a warranty case it's free, otherwise I'll have to pay the shipping and repair costs and i'll be without it fot at least 6 weeks. Kind of pi... me off, because I've only had it for 3 weeks.

Anybody familiar with the issues I described (or at least tried to)?

I've not heard of this problem, but that by no means implies there aren't folks here who have heard of this. Have you asked the staff at your local b&m shop to take a look at it? I don't mean to have them service, but perhaps there is something they could diagnose just by looking at it in person.

I have two ProVari's and it's done that very same thing on my newest. Thought it was me.

I live in Holland and bought it in Germany. They said they could only tell me whether the contact point in the provari was dirty or not as this might cause problems. It looks clean to me.

If you are chain vaping and 5 vapes in a row it goes into increasing the voltage. Take 4 vapes then pause 2 or 3 seconds

On my provari and I don't know if yours is the same because I the original one. There are two srews one above the LED and one below it. The bottom one holds the holds the LED in place and it looks like it may be holding everything else down. Check to see if this screw is loose or broken.

I know this is unlikely but are you someone getting it in PU mode? I have not heard of this one.

mine will do that when i chain vape, but don't know about the circuit board moving part. your provari has a one year warranty. the shipping part sucks. but i love my provari won't buy any other mod.

I reset the voltage and continued to vape. Only happened a couple times during this past month. Both ProVari's are still under warranty. Figured I could wait to see if it got progressively worse. Could it be a bad coil head? Then why would it work after I reset voltage using same coil? Hmmmmmmm

My wife used to have the same problem, but she was not holding down the button firmly throughout her vape. That was causing (the aforementioned) placement into PU mode. That was over a year ago though, and she hasn't had the problem since.

One the looseness, that might need to be addressed. One of arsenal needed to be sent back, for that very reason. It was, as you stated, a bit loose (and needed some work).

I think you'll find Provape to be great to work with, in such scenarios, but I feel bad because you're so far away. Hopefully, it's a relatively quick turnaround for you.

Does this happen with All your batteries?

Not sure what the Battery could have to do with it? Just Eliminating the Usual Suspects.

Just happened again since my above post! I replaced coil head and took the old one apart. It was gunked up terribly! Tossed it. Even tho I soak over nite the used coil heads in 98% alcohol (use a clean one after every tank full), The 4 I've been rotating the past 4 mos. have gotten beyond saving. I also vape juice that is fairly clear in color which may also help in prolonging the life of the coils.

I've had some of the same problems with the voltage changing on both of my Provaris. Usually when I chain vape. Also, sometimes the spring gets a little compressed and can cause contact problems. This is easily remedied by stretching it a bit. Doing that alone drastically reduced my misfires.

With the gunk build up, keep a bunch of Qtips and IPA around. I use legionnaire tanks and fly through cartos. Whenever I change them I clean everything- including the inside contact point (blanking on the name here).

These things have worked for me. YMMV
