I have never owned a Provari, but since moving on from my ego style devices, I've wanted more flexibility than the 0.9 ohm - 20 watt range (correct me if I'm wrong here) provided by the Provari. I don't cloud chase, but on occasion I will through a lower ohm build in a dripper just for the fun of it, just for a change. My RTA of choice at the moment is the SQuape R which I have running a 1.0 ohm dual coil at 20 watts, drippers are somewhere between 0.8-1.0 ohm at slightly higher wattages, so my fairly "average" vaping style will max out or exceed the Provari's range.
I'm not bashing it by any means, it does seem to suit a lot of peoples vaping style and from reports it's a very well made device, it's just not for me

Only twice a year? :p
You must not come here often. LOL!
Honestly you're right I don't come here often anymore, I used to. This place went from being a group of people helping each other out to the complete utter garbage you see here today.
It's sad really new vapers will never know how much more useful and peaceful it used to be around here.

I had been eyeing up a P3 for as long as anyone pre-release.
Once vendors started to stock them here in the UK i was a little disappointed by the new specs. Now Provape have released a firmware update the device is a lttle more interesting. Not that it makes that much of a difference it can now operate an atty with a 0.5 ohm coil. Can't really see what the point is if the device still only fires up to 20 watts though. I'm not sure but would a firmware update be able to expand on the 20 watts ?. Sub ohm more watts would be what i'd expect so why do you suppose they've done things the way they have ?.

For reasons i can't quite fathom i am now saving for a P3. Coincidentally i just bought an authentic Kayfun V4 along with a Russian 91%. The Russian, which i bought first, is now redundant because i use the Kayfun on my only Provari 2.5. I'm thinking i'll get the P3 for the Kayfun and use the 2.5 with my Russian. I made this decision about the same time i found out about the latest Provari update. So now i'm a little confused as to why i now want a P3. I just don't think i'd be doing the Kayfun any justice if i were to use it on any regulated mod other than a Provari. Now it's just a case of which P3 i want. The Ti seems a sensible choice but i don't like the finish and besides who cares how heavy it is anyway. On top of that the only part of the P3 that is Ti is the tube part, the rest is stanless steel. So it kind of only leaves me with one option and that's the polished stainless steel. The Ti is still in the back of my mind though. Ideally i'd like solid silver but obviously that's not an option. Imagine that, a solid silver tube with stainless steel fittings, beautiful !. Bit soft though silver. probably end up falling apart.

For those of us who never go above 15watts; for those of us who don't cloud chase; for those of us who never get dry hits and don't care about temp. Protection; for those of us who only like tube mods and for those of us who see value in well made, well engineered and well backed things, ProVari are worth every penny... There are many of us... We are LEGION...

Wow, Steve! If I'd known...

While there's no way to prove it, I don't think they're selling them at the rate that Provape anticipated. They seem to have a lot more discounts/sales than they ever did in the past and the price of used provari's in the classifieds have plummeted over the last 4 months.

That price plummet is why I still own 2 instead of 1.

Product is solid.
CS is great.
After sales support is nearly unmatched.
I love that they rigorously test new products and build up stock before releasing for sales.

But enthusiast pricing without keeping up with enthusiast trends puts them falling behind IMO.

Maybe never far enough to lose their shirts.

But I'd damn sure love a 100 watt mod from provape.

I have no use for 20 watts and people I know that do... While they like provape quality, I've met not a single person I could sell on one.

Believe me, you... not for lack of trying.

A few of these people make well over 200 Gs a year, smoked premium brands like chimneys, are frustrated with their gear, prefer low wattage vaping and just want something that works no fuss, no muss.

But they won't drop over (usually nearly) $100 on an end game mod to end the cycle of replacing garbage.

I'm not so sure about that. You should read the threads from when the forum first started. There were some pretty heated "510 vs. 808" debates, no joke.

I recently posted this elsewhere, but I believe it might have application here too. Heck - maybe it should be a sticky (I don't know). Bottom line - fun is good, as is everything in its spirit. And I'd love to keep having some, provided we can all (myself included) keep it in context.

When you compare what goes on here to elsewhere, I still feel it's the best option for folks to get actual information. It is sometimes/often buried in a myriad of other stuff (guilty as charged, me!)? Yes, it is. We can get childish, territorial, impatient and intolerant. Again, I'm often a worst-offender in flying off-course, even though I try NOT to be. I'll continue to work on improving that...

But those things ("childish, territorial....") are all somewhat inherent to the nature of our beings. At the same time though, I've seen people come together for a variety of reasons (some vape related, some not), in ways that reinforce (for me) the value of this place. I've been humbled here, impressed more times than I can count, and made to feel appreciative beyond words. I've made friendships that have been stronger-than-strong, some lasting years (so far), transcending vaping into much deeper arenas.

Ultimately there's still much quality here as compared to what we see daily on FB (for example). I'll deal with both, but feel things are much more respectable here, overall at least.

There's also something to be said for the simple evolution of the industry, which might be somewhat related to the fact that there is so much more information simply available now than there was back in 2007-2010/11. The world needed the place that ECF was back then. Things are so much different today though. Information is everywhere, including in the halls of the US Congress (and political bodies all over the world). We're emerging quickly from "cottage" status, flying into mainstream at supersonic speeds. I guess, now that I think about it, maybe we already have (emerged...). Again, I do not know.

So while I respect the fact that you feel it's "complete utter garbage" now, I can't honestly say that I agree. In my opinion, it's only PARTIAL-utter-garbage... :D

Now, back to the important stuff...

@alicewonderland - this whole "Beware of pizza!" thing. We must have a serious talk.
:?:

didnt you know? Pizza companies all over the united states are trying to pass off 'hawaiian pizza' as authentic! is it authentic hawaiian ? or authentic pizza? Is it even possible to be both at the same time?

Well I only use 7+2, and everyone else is just wrong

Shall we discuss the GG! Most new folks on the board don't even know what a GG is, let alone know that the first RBAs were made by GG. The GG wars use to consume ecf. You wouldn't believe the number of folks that got banned back then.

Guess that means it'll be a long time before you add #13 or is it 14?

Flight just got delayed an hour ... so, I pulled the trigger on a Gun Metal mini and a Metallic Green mini

$179.91 shipped ... puts the count at 14

Only you, Willy. I freaking LOVE it.

"Flight delayed? BUY A PROVI!" You've just provided them with their next marketing campaign.

Question: Did you actually do this while AT the airport? Because that could just set a whole NEW set of marketing options into play.
