OK Gang - the ProVaris arrived and the first batteries are showing GREEN on the Pila Charger (I guess they must come about 80% charged or so? Only took about 30 minutes to go from red to green) - BTW I'm so excited I can barely even type this. ;)

So, I know they say for the cartomizers to use at least 3ohm, however, I have the Vivi Nova tanks, both the 2.5ml and the 3.5ml. Can I use the 1.8ohm atomizer in this? I want to start low and work my way up and not blow out my retinas like Spicy suggested. LMAO Remember, I have the Johnson Creek VEAs that I've been vaping with and those batteries are not the standard 3.7 Volt, but more like 2.8 Volt ... I think their cartos are about 1.7ohm if I remember correctly ... so would the 1.8 be a good place to start or will that even work?

Tell me oh great ones who vape ProVari, where shall my husband and I start with our new toys? ;)

Yes you can use your vivi nova's with your shiny new toys;) start at say 3.7 volts and go up till you're happy with it :) if you try to go to high (I'm not certain exactly what voltage that would be) your provari will cut you off anyway. It's also likely not to taste too good as you reach the upper limits of that combination. But YES! Go for it and enjoy, vivi novas and provari = great pair. You'll have to report back after you play around a bit, your retinas will be fine;)

Synthros - thank you, I knew I could use the Vivi Nova tanks with the ProVari as everyone said it was a great combo. I'm just wondering about the ohm level with the nova heads ... at 3.7 Volts, should I use the 1.8ohm head? Or what is recommended? And as I work upwards to find that "sweet spot" when should I change to the high ohm heads for the tank?

I just read something out here, would this be a "chart" to follow???

1.8ohm for Ego or 3.3 v stuff
2.4ohm for 3.7v bats
2.8 ohms for vv 4v+++

WHEW!!! I'm glad my retinas will still be in tact too. ;)

You can screw anything on that baby, that's greatness of the ProVari and variable volt! The Vari won't fire if something is wrong with the atomizer. I prefer the 2.4 ohm heads and normally vape at 4-4.5 volts. The higher and lower ohms you can naturally go higher or lower voltage. I just got a high voltage 4ohm atty in the mail today and I've been vaping at 5.6 volts to let the Big Dog eat, so to speak. Here is a handy dandy chart to help you along.: http://www.vaporrater.com/images/Safe%20Vaping%20Chart.jpg

Ahh there ya go, there's the chart! Those are your ideal ranges, but I have definately gone a tad higher on occasion. You're not going to "hurt" anything per se. You could I guess get a burnt taste if you go too high. But the worst case is you lose one of your vivi nova replaceable heads. (and even that isnt likely). That's why I felt pretty confident telling you to just go for it. Use the awesome chart Spicy posted for you and experiment. In case you're worried or wondering you can't hurt your new device. If you ask the provari to throw more volts at something than it was designed to do it simply won't fire and will kick out the appropriate error code to tell you so. I personally like the 2.4 heads in the low to mid 4 volt range, but you will find your own sweet spot soon enough. That's one of the beauties of this device, you can dial in what you like and you can change it up of course. I don't like the "full force" vape towards the end of the day that I sometimes crave first thing in the morning, etc. I'm probably telling you a bunch of stuff you already know:) anyways glad to hear you so excited, I know I was too! Enjoy!

Spicy and Synthros ... you both are my HEROS today! First of all, thank you both for putting up with all my questions regarding the new toy (which by the way, I will post photos of very soon) Also, that chart is GREAT! Thank you for that!

Today was like Christmas in September ... Not only did my husband and I get the new ProVaris in, but we also got tons of new liquid from a few different vendors, plus some extra "standard flavor" so we could still happily vape while letting the new flavors steep AND I got in the order from gotvapes which were the tanks and my 510 to eGo adapters (just like you recommended - just in case) ;) I ordered 2 VN minis (which V2.5 is 2ml not the 2.5ml I think I stated above) and 4 standard 3.5ml tanks (they were cheap enough to say the least over Labor Day). Since we were waiting for batteries to charge, I figured I'd pop on one of the VN minis on my VEA battery yank one of the 1.8ohm atomizers and go to town with the new tank ... my husband was doing better than me, not perfect, but vaping none-the-less, my disappointment factor soon set in as I am trying to do the same, but the atty kept flooding and pouring liquid down it's gullet. WTF?!?!??! :glare:

Well, after doing some further reading, those VEA 650mah batteries are only rated 2.8V, not the 3.2V as the eGo batteries. Anyway, by this time, the first set of ProVari batteries are already charged in the new Pila Charger, so away we go ... print out the instructions, put the battery in, make sure I have my 5, 7, 9, 11, 13 clicks whatever I need to do for the display, screw on the tank ... LETS DO THIS! Turn the Vari to 3.7V and take my first drag .... ::: sigh ::: I felt like I was in the middle of a cartoon and the trumpet was blowing ... WA WA WA WAAAAAAAA ................. I'm pulling nothing but flavored air and the occasional e-liquid. Not that the liquid tastes bad, but that's a bad sign something isn't right.

I'm wondering what the problem is, because now, I'm seeing my hubby over there blowing out these wonderful clouds of vapor, so we decide to change the atomizer (I know, I know, to have a bad one from China ... who would have thunk it, right?!?!?! <heh>) popped in a 2.4ohm that originally came with the mini, poured the liquid back in the tank, hooked it back up to the Vari, cranked up the volume to 4.0ohm and OH HAPPY DAY!!!!! I'm sure there's some fine tuning as I was just looking the 2.4 atty registers 2.8 on the ProVari. I was just vaping at 4.5 and was getting good throat hit and flavor ... YUPPERS, well worth the investment INDEED!!!

Only thing left to do is check out some extra attys and I think we'll be set for awhile. I have already told my husband there WILL be another one in our future for backup because in just a few short vapes, it will be hard to go back to anything else. LMAO!

Thanks again for all the information everyone, especially you two; Spicy and Synthros. Like I said, I'll get some photos in a bit ..... :)

Mini Cooper - buying big early on is exactly what my husband and I did as I'm sure you've read in this thread. So far, what a great experience (with the exception of the first VN 1.8 head, but hey live and learn) ProVape was fast on the ship too, just ordered Monday (holiday) and got it today ... can't be that one with a stick. :)

Spicy, I was wondering if these VN tanks get better with age. I assume you just use them until the ProVari tells you they are no good? I need to go out here and take a looksy on the best way to clean everything, but what do you do when you want to clean your tank, etc?

Anyway, here's the photo .. his and her ProVaris. :D They have the Vivi Nova Mini tanks on them now, just couldn't seen wasting good liquid because I wanted to put on the bigger tank. ;)

I just take them a part and rinse under hot water, they come pretty clean. I just cleaned a mini a couple nights ago and this time I filled it with alcohol and swished it around every now and again, then rinsed it all off again and let it air dry. I was in no hurry to use it so I figured an alcohol bath wouldn't hurt.

Also you can take that little plastic cup off the top of the head and look down in it to see the coil after you've rinsed it. If it looks a little gunky dry burn it until you get a red glow. Just short bursts. If it's not real gunky you'll probably see the red glow immediately.

NetteG, good for you! I'm glad you and your husband are liking your new devices. There are a million opinions on the forums, but for me I pretty much knew after poking around a bit that I was going to buy one. The only money I could really have saved would have been buying one sooner;) But that's ok,it's always good to have back-ups. I'm really glad that it's living up to your expectations. Mine literally has not been far from my hands since I got it. I always knew where my smokes were, lol. It's no different for me in that sense. There are tons of threads here on the provari , you'll have to check some of them out when you get a chance. Have a great night!
