I had an issue with my atty overheating. Did some troubleshooting with Casey in the vendor thread and traced it to the resistor in the switch mechanism touching the inside housing. Gave it a slight tweak and, voila! All fixed! Love it now that it's not burning my juice. :D

So although I had an issue, it was simple and easily diagnosed. Now I feel comfortable with troubleshooting my Prodigy should any other issues arise. Very satisfied despite the small setback.

Frankly, I don't like this poll. If this were in the Puresmoker subforum, it might have some value (although a more specific polling of *types* of problems would be more useful).

Here in the reviews subforum, it has the effect of being a referendum on the Prodigy. Notice that most of the narrative responses thus far have commented on how much they like the Prodigy, rather than any problems incurred.

I *love* my Prodigy (and yes, it is *my* Prodigy; you can't have it;)), yet I did have an initial problem (a squished delrin) that was replaced quickly (along with the atty that was blown by it) with great courtesy and personalized attention.

So is that a Yes or No? [FYI: I didn't vote.]

I'M RIGHT HERE
i had to bend the end-cap spring to a G shape so it would make contac . the atty that came with my kit went dead on third day. the batt charger tabs on the bottom i had to keep bending up to make contac to chare batts. so of course the tab finally broke off and i had to do some work on that.
but even with these minor problems, i ordered a second prodigy kit for my brother, and will probably order more , as soon as i convince the rest of my analog friends and family to switch to e-cig's.
i would like to see the price go down, but such is life.

So, roughly from this poll, it looks as if almost 12% of the Prodigy owners have had trouble?

Not a very good percentage I think? Probably not much better than the Chinese product we are accustomed to getting.

I am hoping that we could get some good USA, or non Chinese product that will put an end to the mechanical and inventory/shipping issues we have been experiencing over the last couple of years.

I know that PS and others are working on this, but I'm just frustrated with the current state of the art.

My first issue with the Prodigy was a misfiring resistor switch where I had to try to find the right spot to press on the button and I had to press hard in order to get it to work. So Casey exchanged that with a no-resistor switch for me. The no-resistor switch worked great.

Unfortunately I ended up selling my Prodigy because I have a touch of arthritis in my hands and what with fighting to get the end cap on and off of the Prodigy to change batteries was just too frustrating for me and my hands suffered for it.

Cross-threading was also an issue when trying to screw the end cap back on cuz of the teeny tiny threads - dang!!

But I do miss vaping with it. It's just not a friendly design for people who have arthritis or carpal tunnel syndrome.

The intent of this poll is to allow people considering the Prodigy to know if it is a solid product or if the odds are they will experience issues when/if they get one. It is not to encourage or discourage, only to inform.

This is how people make decisions on purchasing products, by other peoples experiences. Not by "what kind of issues", but "were there issues".

There are plenty of posts and responses on types of issues on this forum, but no reports on overall quality. In the Quality world, they use PPM, which is defective Parts Per Million, and is non discriminatory on type of issue, that is all I'm trying to get to.

I hope that PS is collecting and using some sort of quality data to address and correct these issues, meanwhile, the public should be aware of the quality of product they are looking at.

My apologies if this reply is taken as argumentative, it is only meant to over explain why I started this poll in the first place. I wanted to know before I purchased one, what I could expect.

BTW, that would have been a "Yes" vote.
