PT didn't work in car

I was going on a 4-hour trip and along with all my-e-cig sundries (cartoz, juice, batts etc.) I decided to take my manual PT with me. Didn't work.

I have a splitter hooked up the cigarette lighter so I can charge my cell phone and run the GPS simultaneously. I didn't fiddle with it w/o the splitter cuz I needed the GPS. How do you guys get the PT to work in the car? Must I get a portable USB battery pack?

You need an adapter that can provide at least 1A, preferably 1.5A. The splitter shouldn't be an issue.

I got mine at Frys, it was $10 and is rated at 2A.

All of the adapters that I had (and I had a lot of them!) were too weak to power a PT. So I got a new one that was rated higher (1.0 A) and all is good.

the adapter i have is from V4l and they are rated 1 amp, and my V4L auto PT does not work. i think i got sent a bad one.

Scout there were some older ones that were in the sale section that were fine for charging but too weak for passthru use. Maybe u got one of those. Email Mark to see.

Key and LO - I haven't talked to Mark. I'll be ordering another batch of carts soon and I figured on just writing that in the comment section so they can send me a new set. I hope they send me a new set.

splitter may indeed be the culprit, depending which usb car adapter you're using (i've got 2 that won't power the V4L passthrough...
But I gotta say that the portable power pack is a brilliant solution (just recently picked one up myself)...specifically the kensington portable power pack (as some others are underpowered) it runs at 5V@ 1.5A peak ...you can find em on ebay as low as $35..and works fantastic

yeah I got one from walgreens per pawpaw(thanks by the way) a couple of months ago it works great!Only thing wasn't e-tek brand but works great still going stong.

Yup. Mine is a different brand too (i-XT?), but the packaging is similar enough that you should have been able to easily spot it hanging on the hook.

Thanks Iris. I ordered this one. Affordable.
(If we had a Walgreens in the area I would have picked up the one pawpaw recommended locally which would have been a bit more convenient. But heck, we're all used to waiting for the mailman.. har har)
